This section is called Lamb Creek Grade. It steadily climbs in elevation.

And it got narrow and more narrow, until it was single lane.

Nice pics Tim. Regarding snow in Lassen, one year I left the last couple days of May and headed to Yellowstone then up thru Redlodge to Glacier NP then s/w thru Idaho and Crater Lake and into California to Lassen, now about June 10th maybe? Although the park road was open there was more snow on the ground than I saw anywhere else, anywhere!

BTW, can you arrange for me to make contact with the Suzuki GSX-S GT1000 rider? A blue one I think. If not on this ride, a recent one I think. I can message or text you/him my number as I’m looking at one and I’d like to ask him some questions about his.

But I knew this would happen, I've ridden this road many times.

But, the reason you come up here is obvious. The views of the NorCal mountains from Lamb Creek Grade are spectacular.

Back onto Highway 36 and headed out to the coast. NorCal's Highway 36 is a very fast road with almost zero traffic.

Soon enough, we're riding through the redwood forest section was we near the coast.

Lots of light dark sections.

In Fortuna, the place to go is the Eel River Brewing Co, we've been coming to this same restaurant with tour groups for 20 years.

My awesome group of riders. Jeff & Randy at bottom left & right have been coming on these motorcycle tours for 15 years. We've been riding together for a long time.

Chris & I live a couple hours apart, but we're headed the same general direction across the state from NorCal.

I'm an early riser & love to be on the road at first light. Chris agreed to ride with me across the state.
