56 in a 40-why me

I'm just waiting for my day to be on here b!tc#in' about the ticket I just got. Without frequent track days, I'm really starting to question the purpose of even having this bike. ???

Nothing like being the guy who has "the fastest bike in production", just to be the guy who has "the fastest bike in production". I really don't see how this ends well.

Wait.....he asked "why are you carrying?"

Ok, this is where you make a call to his Sergent, Lieutenant, Captain, etc. I would raise hell until you are thoroughly satisfied. It's none of his GD business so long as you provide your CCW permit. That should have been the end of the conversation. He should ask the State of Florida why they issued you a permit if he finds it distasteful. That pisses me off to no end. File a written complaint and you will get results! Make sure you use the word "harassment"

I would completely own up to the speed and drill it home on the HARRASMENT you got for carrying. That's BS.

My brother had a similar incident with a home burglary, the cop kept questioning why he owned so many guns and wouldn't let it go. Finally my brother asked for the officer in charge of uniformed patrol and got it straightend out. Young man needs to learn a lesson in humility.

wow when i got caught 51 in a 40 it was 21 bucks small town living isnt so bad

Mmmmm I dont know according to my Iphone its 48 degrees in Fargo now.
You still have snow on the ground...

Geesh wait a minute forecast for Friday is a low of 32 with a chance of snow mixed with rain.....

Just an observation, I mean no disrespect what so ever. Do you think if you had NOT approached the officer things would have went different? I'm new to riding so I've not experienced the smokin hot sunshine (no surprise since I live in Michigan), but if you had just sweat it out I think things would have gone more "your way".

I read somebody elses account of a traffic stop (doing waaay more that 16 over) they pulled over, shut the bike off, dropped thier key in the dirt and removed thier helmet. If I get stopped I guess my approach will be similar.

NO WITH A BIG N

He was a complete butthead from get go. It was only after all the hand on gun and lecturing when he went to car to print ticket.
After a couple mins I started to drip and then approached car.
His attitude had already been given to me before I approached car.
And also to blast me with megaphone from 10ft instead of just saying it made him even more of a not so nice guy.
There was 100% nothing I could have done to change his ways and means nothing.
I gave him nothing but the respect he and his badge deserved and he did all he could to push my buttons.

Sorry to hear this Blanca. There are definitely respectful cops out there but cowards behind badges like this tick me off. His will come around. It always does.

I think you should put on a license plate revolver and make a run for it. :firing:

Blanca, I was on the way to work this morning and shortly after entering the freeway I proceeded to the HOV lane and passed one car and was maintaining about 85mph (while the rest of traffic was doing about 80). I noticed an officer on a Harley that was a few cars back. He maneuvered his way up to me and got right up on my azz, then backed off. I was like, ok, whatever. Just kept cruising along, figured if he was gonna pull me over then he was gonna pull me over. He came up close again for a sec, backed off, then got right up beside me and gave me 2 short siren blips. I took my left hand off the bar and turned toward him and he just motioned with his hand for me to slow it down. I waived and nodded, then he sped up and changed lanes to the right, then I proceeded to keep pace with traffic and he disappeared behind me after a while. Heh, I figured, whew...but glad the guy was cool. Just need more biker cops out there.

Your not running anywhere here except to jail !!!
There's twenty cops within every square mile and at least two helos up 24/7.
Too flat and nowhere to go .
You would not get away an even if I could I would only pass same cop next day and be in even more trouble .
Cannot outrun the radio here in South Florida .

I too have had LEOs come up next to me and with loudspeaker say while we are going down road what the speed limit is and please slow down .
I got a really nice warning in St Lucie when had I passed him a mile sooner bike would still be in impound and I would still be paying legal fees to clear myself.
All in the life....
