Any word on the GEN 3 Hayabusa????

I LOVE my gen 2 Busa. But I'll be the first to admit that if the Gen 3 comes factory turbocharged, I'm probably going to do what it takes (financially) to pick one up.

Sooooo, the Gen 3 wish list is to be legal  And, of course, bold new colors and graphics :D[/QUOTE]

Bold new colors, that will never happen. We all know motorcycle manufacturers are way to proud and diligent to only change colors year after year. It always a brand new bike....every time. ....all the time..... :deadhorse:

Waiting on a Gen-III.

Think about it. The current bike is 8 yrs old already. And the frame is the same as a 99. So we're riding around on 16 yr old technology. This bike was developed in the late 90's.

A 16 yr old kid could march on down to the local dealer & buy a 2015 model today.

And it's a bike that was designed & developed before he was born. Chew on that.

you had to go there didnt you?

Suzuki P.R. guys did mention at either the release of the GSX-S1000 or at the unveiling of the recent MotoGP bikes that the time was right for several new models or major upgrades in the future. Obviously the GSXR1000 would be a priority, but a flagship sports tourer should be up there too.
From the GS1000, GSX1100, original GSXR1100 to the '99 Busa Suzuki have had a history of top end big bore bikes.
They certainly are over due for another.

They Busa was head and shoulders above the others in 1999, now it's living more on its past and to what tuners and aftermarket bits can do, rather than the out of the crate bikes ability. The Hayabusa and Suzuki certainly haven't been advancing like the competition.

I'd hate to be designing a new Busa.

Major changes and mods will get "it's not a true Busa, it's changed, it's lost what it had" just like the Harley big twin v V-Rod debate.
Minor changes will get "it's just paint, stickers and tweaks like in 08" and not enough enough to put it back out front of the pack.

The Busa has always been a compromise, some want it more sports, some want it more tourer, is a fine balance to build a bike that both camps will buy. Tough call.

2013, '14, '15

The 2013 only had it on the LE model.

We've been holding out on purchasing a new shop bike because we want a gen 3. As soon as we can pre order we will.

We are just starting a 2015 build for someone. Gonna be doing something useful with those pesky abs sensors....

They should definitely relocate the abs so we don't hit it with the front stands:)

well, if some Suzuki engineer reads this then i want to throw in my 2 cents.
The best of all worlds, they update the tech for traction control, wheelie control, launch control and better modes that are useful. Change the dash to a full led panel that can be customized to what you want to see. make it all available to fit onto gen2's, and lighten the bike without messing with the design.
With that, I think they'd get their share of 'not enough change' critics, but all in all, would still revamp sales, get a huge profit from selling the tech to current owners, revitalize the name and keep us happy. It'd probably be a good idea to hit on something none of the others are doing, like adding bluetooth connectivity, or a plug in extra module port for gps, or performance timers and data.

and of course as VaBusa said, bold new colors and graphics!

Just my humble opinion:)

All great ideas. Guess I am just old school but I like the analog gauges and the fact that the bike does not has a bunch of rider aids. I know that is not common consensus.

Well darn, with technology this ancient we might as well be riding Harley-Davidsons !!!!

I'm with you bro, haven't needed all that crap over the last 44 years and don't need it now(just more potential failure points and shyt to go wrong).:beerchug:

Well if you go back 44 years some would say they don't need the fuel injection crap....

I'd like to see a full old dash and have a choice of digital or analog gauges(favorite). I'd like to see the driving aids with the ability to turn them off or adjust them somehow. It doesn't have to have climate control or heated seats but would be nice lol:thumbsup:.

I love the design of the gen 1 and am starting to like the gen 2 more. I guess I want to see the hayabusa blow everyone out the water like they did when first introduced.

I really highly doubt it will be turbo, and if it is, I'm sure it will be priced up there with the h2.... And I see that killing the hayabusa.

I've heard from "a few good men" that there's going to be a significant increase in displacement, but was spared the rest of the details. We won't know for sure until one rolls out in to the spot light.

I'm fine with everything on the Gen II as it is now, would just like an extra 20 hp to even it up with the ZX-14(having never owned a carbed Jap bike I bet those were a pain in the ass to keep synched ).

Keep the analong gauges, can't stand led in car or motorcycle. Inrease displacement some. Wheelie control. Slightly higher windshield. Slightly more upright riding position. A few power outlets. And true cruise control - I would be happy. Almost forgot the most important thing to me - Add Dzus or similar type fairing fasteners.
