Any word on the GEN 3 Hayabusa????

If we are talking upgrades..... Mmmm..... thinking.....

I dont mind ABS, traction control, anti-wheelie etc etc .... IF they can be turned on / off.

Power points for satnav etc ?

Optional factor luggage that suits the bike ?

High / low bar options ?

Factory adjustable foot pegs for heigh and rear set ?

A better BTL than the current Gen-2 has ?

Fuses under the seat not the fairing ?

Radiator guards as stock ?

Better paint and less stickers.
Use genuine paint jobs and not huge stickers with thick edges to add colour
so it doesn't look like the finish on a cheap kids toy.

I LOVE your commentary

I'm fortunate to have never been pulled over and scrutinized, but I would assume many would interpret each bike they pull in whatever way they deem necessary, and they'd also do so depending on how the rider reacts to being pulled, etc.

I have yet to find a shop that agrees on whether or not my license plate is mounted illegally or not, and I think it is, and has been for years. Most of these shops don't know a thing about bikes, yet they do inspections :dunno: then there's one that sells Ducatis and even they aren't sure, but the consensus is that they'd pass my Busa as is, plate and all...there's also no light on the tag, never has been

Sooooo, the Gen 3 wish list is to be legal  And, of course, bold new colors and graphics :D

Thanks man i really appreciate the compliment! I just try to be myself and honest. But yeah i just learned to be calm and go with the flow! Honestly i didnt even know i had a light right there. I recently found out that it goes in and out for whatever reason! Apparently it was off that night

Waiting on a Gen-III.

Think about it. The current bike is 8 yrs old already. And the frame is the same as a 99. So we're riding around on 16 yr old technology. This bike was developed in the late 90's.

A 16 yr old kid could march on down to the local dealer & buy a 2015 model today.

And it's a bike that was designed & developed before he was born. Chew on that.

Im chewing...

I'd hate to be designing a new Busa.

Major changes and mods will get "it's not a true Busa, it's changed, it's lost what it had" just like the Harley big twin v V-Rod debate.
Minor changes will get "it's just paint, stickers and tweaks like in 08" and not enough enough to put it back out front of the pack.

The Busa has always been a compromise, some want it more sports, some want it more tourer, is a fine balance to build a bike that both camps will buy. Tough call.

Thats very true. I think they know not to change the styling too much..we already love the looks just give us some better specs

They should definitely relocate the abs so we don't hit it with the front stands:)

well, if some Suzuki engineer reads this then i want to throw in my 2 cents.
The best of all worlds, they update the tech for traction control, wheelie control, launch control and better modes that are useful. Change the dash to a full led panel that can be customized to what you want to see. make it all available to fit onto gen2's, and lighten the bike without messing with the design.
With that, I think they'd get their share of 'not enough change' critics, but all in all, would still revamp sales, get a huge profit from selling the tech to current owners, revitalize the name and keep us happy. It'd probably be a good idea to hit on something none of the others are doing, like adding bluetooth connectivity, or a plug in extra module port for gps, or performance timers and data.

and of course as VaBusa said, bold new colors and graphics!

Just my humble opinion:)

I dont want any rider aids! To me that diminishes the need for the rider to develop skill! I prefer analog gauges but wont die over it! Lighten the bike absolutely! Somebody mentioned changing the seat position...i think thats a very bad decision..much easier to let the buyer change the handlebars

Just hung up talking to Suzuki. They said "Are you still waiting for a dam Gen III? Jesus Christ man get a frickin life and buy a dang ZX14!" :hide:

You guys don't have a choice on the rider aids. ABS is required in most European countries and adding the other aids just makes things safer in the lawyers and bean counters eyes. I say bring it all on, just make sure you have the option to turn it on/off at anytime.

So many things they could do with the next Busa, hopefully they don't screw it up....

I absolutely love my 08. But the technology is old now. I gave Suzuki until January of 2016 to unveil a better bike. If they don't, I am jumping to BMW. They were the first 1000cc to beat the Busa. The rest are close behind. They need to do something to put everyone back in their places. Back when 2nd Gens came out, seeing someone on a Katana was kinda comical. Our bikes are becoming Katanas.

Seriously? Comparing the Busa to the Beemer is something you shouldn't be doing. And as far as the Katana comment, I'm not even sure I'm gonna warrant my response to that.

Go buy the $20K Beemer, or buy a $14K Busa, stick $6K into it and smack that Beemer's a$$ and do it in comfort... Your choice.

Buy a 6K gen1 busa and stick 10K back into it..... ask GNBRETT.... you will have an unstoppable beast that will make everybody cry.... if we are talking about factory hp then get off the boat and go get a Kawi H2.. but you want to talk about aftermarket potential... then there is no comparison to the busa... Gen1 or gen2... and to be honest - the busa engines with the highest HP ratings are running Gen1 blocks...

Thats the thing. Don't expect a Gen 3 to be 14k, and you know that. I am thinking more like 20k. So if they are going to come out with a Gen 3 and make us pay 20k, it better slaughter everything else on two wheels. 2008 was the last major change. WTF?? Do something other than add what all other bikes had years ago, and the colors. They could have easily made a few engine modifications to at least keep our mouths watering. Is 10hp too much to ask for every 3 years?? geez!

I don't know if he is a member here on the ORG. but he seems to know the exact marketing plan and sales strategy for Suzuki! Also, he seems to know that the stock tires are as hard as glass in the middle but sticky on the edges. And had Suzuki chose better tires he would not have crashed and broke ribs do to abs failure ..........

I think he knows little and is just blowing smoke.

I'd say he's pretty much an irritating old prick and just guessing like everyone else.:laugh:I don't know what he's referring to about the 2011 and up transmission, never had a lick of an issue with mine in 4 years(sounds like he's talking about the old 2nd gear problem common in the Gen I's).

not really. its still a great platform to build from and I cud giv a rats ass wat a bike does stock cause who keeps their bike stock these days and if u do thats BORING!

and as far as all the electronics I just don't see the need with a bike weighing 500 lbs or so wen its lightened. the lack of electronics doesn't seem to slow my Gen 1 down wen I blow past BMW1000rr's like their going backwards.....:poke:
