Any word on the GEN 3 Hayabusa????

Thats the thing. Don't expect a Gen 3 to be 14k, and you know that. I am thinking more like 20k. So if they are going to come out with a Gen 3 and make us pay 20k, it better slaughter everything else on two wheels. 2008 was the last major change. WTF?? Do something other than add what all other bikes had years ago, and the colors. They could have easily made a few engine modifications to at least keep our mouths watering. Is 10hp too much to ask for every 3 years?? geez!

Well all i know is that the BMW has no soul to me! And the Kawasaki just doesnt feel right! Im in love with the Hayabusa...its design its ergonomics and the power! Im sticking with it

For some of us it's not about being the quickest or fastest. Its about the whole package. I'm personally looking for Zuk to produce another iconic motorcycle that I would be proud to own. However that status comes about, be it appearance, design, innovation, power, handling, suspension...... The Busa is iconic for several reasons. Initially it was because it was the quickest fastest thing out there and it had an amazing appearance but many manufacturers have eclipsed that and you are going to pay for it out the nose. If you think about the cost to put the most powerful engine, the best suspension and electronics, the lightest frame, the best exhaust system, etc the bike would be outrageously expensive and unobtainable for the masses. Heck, everyone is *****ing about the H2 costing 25 grand and it does not meet what I just described in all respects.

Personally, I don't think we will ever see another bike that eclipses the competition to the degree the original Hayabusa did when introduced. Not one that the average Joe can afford anyway.

So, for the Gen 3 I'd like to see it look like the GEN 2, Add a modern suspension, rider aids just like the R1, give it another 20-30 hp and make it lighter. A couple of storage spaces in the fairing uppers would be nice. Love my analog gauges but would like some trip computer functions. Let me do an oil/filter change without having to remove the darned fairings and spill oil all over my header pipes. Oh and don't set up the suspension for MOTO GP jockeys, make it adjustable for us big guys. I'd pay 17000 for that.

I really enjoy it when someone asks me what I ride and the reactions/conversation that ensues when I tell them. Give me another bike like that and I'll be happy. But, I will probably keep my 09 forever.

My favorite comment ever...Pulled up to a small group of riders at the local gas station. We were all there to fuel up and as I got off my bike one of them looked at my bike and said "Ahhhh...The mighty BUSA!" Joined up with them for a great riding day!

When the tow truck driver came to pick up my 07 for the damage assessment, he saw the 1300 on the tail and said he didn't even know Suzuki made a 1300cc sport bike he thought it only went to 1000ccs. When he sat on it to roll it on the flat bed, he looked down at the triple tree and saw the Hayabusa emblem. He says, "Whoa, this thing has a Hayabusa engine?!" I said "I sure hope so, since it's a Hayabusa!!"

Yes, exactly "The Mighty Busa"!
The impact it made will be hard to duplicate Though, no longer the top dog it's just cool. There's just something about it like an an old muscle car. It will always be bad ass!

Did someone mention "the Mighty Busa" !!
Oh and comeone Suzuki lets have some Brand New Graphics for 2016 also.

LOL, I rode to work this morning and parked my bike in the bike parking space. Walked past a Harley rider on my way to the office and he asked what bike that was;

Me: "It's a Hayabusa"

Him: "That's the fastest road bike right? Is it made by Kawasaki?"

Love it or hate it, It was built to slip through the wind. Born from ideas by watching nature. This was unheard of, but the beaked nosed missile caught on as the speed freaks quickly learned this beast of a machine could easily hit 180 mph plus. It was the pure raw horsepower for cheaps! This started it all!
from there thinking regarding motorcycle design changed! So much there had to be a gentleman's agreement. When is this going to happen again? If anything The Hayabusa is a huge feather in the hat of motorcycle history. That's its cool That's why i own one! It's like first to the moon!

I was told today a replacement exists already . Suzuki is only waiting for current model to sell off before release . I had to dig deep to get this .
Ill take the a new/old stock though . I dont need the latest greatest just what has been proven time over time to work darn well .

what!!! Please elaborate a bit more .!!! Was this from a good source?

I wouldnt doubt it! In fact im sure of it companies prepare a launch waaaay in advance! Im just curious as to when they will unveil it

Remember this ? = Suzuki did not import any 2010 model year street motorcycles into the US . Think 2016

I've been pondering what new upgrades I think would make the Busa a better, or more advanced bike. Here are my thoughts fwiw....

There are a lot of things about the Busa that would keep it out of people's top 5, or top 3 lists. It isn't the most comfortable touring bike, it isn't the best cornering bike, or the best braking, or lightest power to weight, etc. In my eyes there is a top 3 (at the very least top 5) list that anyone would have a hard time denying the Busa fits into...best drag bike. With that in mind, and with the very good chance there will be traction and wheelie control on a gen3, why not a factory electric shifter? It could include an auto mode that upshifts at a set rpm. I feel that this is very feasible. A little less feasible, but still possible, if the computer is already controling traction and preventing wheelies, how hard would it be to program a launch control? Open the throttle, dump the clutch, and run an 8 second 1/4 mile (providing an increase in hp)! Like others have said, as long as you could turn it off, why not? Thoughts?

What gen 3 needs . No traction control ( that is the riders duty ) a mild diet of 30 pounds by factory , teamed with lighter wheels helps every functioning part of
turning, stopping, accelerating . Increase tank by .5 gallon for the bump in displacement to 1407 with a bit more Cam .
Build a factory swing arm to go from 56" to 60" wheel base by chain swap . SWB lets a man corner while the 60" helps the weekend drag racer not buy a arm right of the bat . Last provide adjustable links to lower 2.5" or raise the bike 1"

This could be a home run . Of course there would need to be a restyle of the body work .

The 2013 only had it on the LE model.

We've been holding out on purchasing a new shop bike because we want a gen 3. As soon as we can pre order we will.

We are just starting a 2015 build for someone. Gonna be doing something useful with those pesky abs sensors....

Traction control would be useful

You know a major redo on the Gixxer 1K is top priority since they are falling behind the competition very quickly...particularly the amazing new R1. They've just completed a major update of the V-Strom line for the ADV market so I would hope that after the Gixxer line is sorted they would look to the Busa. I just hope a new machine does not lose the all-round usability of the first two generations. It does more things well than any other bike I have owned.

Wondering to myself if it will retain a familial resemblance to the Gen 1 and 2 bikes (most likely) or perhaps depart somewhat to be more akin the the new GXS-S1000F? Honestly I am kind of interested to see how that bike is received here in the US actually. Detuned K5 1000 motor with 144hp, about 471 lbs and decent ergos. I think whatever the Gen 3 Busa turns out to be, it will almost certainly have more electronic rider aids.
