Ok, so I rode to the dealer and spoke to the mechanic directly. I suggested to him that he hadn't applied the update (like he previously claimed he had). He admitted to me that during the service he hadn't used the SDS to check if there was a software update. He made the comment that this is not something they automatically do during the service! I pointed out that on the Suzuki website software updates (if available) are guaranteed as part of the service. I also reminded him that I had specifically requested this be done before the service last week. At this point he went quiet, and I didn't want to push the point too hard, so I asked him to get the update done ASAP. He agreed to update the software next Monday as he is totally booked out today. Funnily enough, just as I started the bike the bug kicked in right in front of him and his colleague: meow, meoww, meowwww, kaput! They acknowledged the hot start problem, claiming this was the first time they'd witnessed it. Anyway, update booked in for Monday. Hopefully, this dealer will be more attentive to this problem with other gen 3 'Busa's that get serviced at their busy workshop. Moral of the story - grill your mechanics/technicians and make sure they're doing their bloody jobs. This is why I have a problem with friggin dealers man.
