Barber Motorsports Park 10-24 and 10-25 2009

Sunday's Novice's are not up yet. Yes, a good crop for some of the others i've seen may be necessary, but so far I kinda like this one!

I saw a bunch of you Keith...there is a good one of you on the back straight on the busa. Definitely should have done a "neater" job on the taping. I look like a ball of duct tape rollin out there but hey, thats cool...at least I'm rollin' and I had enough tape that if something broke, I could just tape it back on.

That's a cool photo Keith! Looks like you were getting ready to roll out?

:beerchug:

Yes, that was at rollout. I also saw the Busa pic too, a little crop and zoom it might look pretty good. A lot of tape but at least i was color - coordinated! Next time I'll get BoB to do it she did an awesome job on Randy's bike!

Anxious to see Sunday's! Man, I'm already ready to go back!

I'm anxious to see what Luci will do with a suspension under her. Good news is the shop that did the botch job is refunding me most of the cost.

Here we go, from Sunday. I have GOT to get off my bike more! yes I see my head position... Well, it ya can't be fast, you gotta LOOK GOOD

You just need to get your bike up on a good set of stands and practice what you were doing in the Paddock.

Hot Damn Dude, you look mighty handsome on that gixxer! I love that helmet. Where did you get that and could you buy me one?

Yessiree, you need to do a little body position adjustment. Not being critical but your bum is to far back. You need to plant the family jewels up snug against the tank and rotate your hips around the tank as you get off your bike. This will force your knee out to the front along with forcing your inside elbow down. It will also force your head to the inside where you want it.

Correction: You need your bum to the rear of the seat when you are straight up so you can get your head down behind the windscreen.

Great photos my man! You can't have to many photos. They don't lie and you can critique yourself and see first hand what you are doing right and what you need to improve on! :beerchug:

I will always accept your criticism SteveO! Now I just need another trackday to work on it!

P.S. Do a search on Suomy; there is a recent thread where someone bought one just like mine (cause I KNOW you wanna look like ME) for under $200...

Did you really buy that helmet for $200?

What's the model or number on that helmet?

I really do like that helmet!

Here's the thread link and the original post below. I went and looked; apparently they caught themselves as they now want over $350, and only have a few odd sizes remaining...

https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/general-bike-related-topics/119591-new-lid-2.html

Read that thread some nice pics. Suomy's are TIGHT compared to other's i tried same size, so if you DO find one, get it a size larger than what you normally wear.

They were selling them for $165; but i think the realized they make a mistake, because they are now back up over $350....

Looking good Keith! You look like an AMA rider:beerchug:

I am ready to go back in March!

Those are nice!! With a little photochop I could turn some of his into good pics but not real impressed with what he posted. Oh well...

Can't decide if its worth it to buy any....

Dont expect to be too impressed, I hold nothing against the guy (Dviant Image) but he really does not do a good job as a track photographer.
If you dont go over, get his attention (in the paddock) and pay him up front, you'll not see yourself too much.

All good, I dont go to the track to have my picture took anyway and its a good thing, I have been to Barber 4 times and not bought one pic from him...

He didn't get any from the tight section in the infield, just the fast corners on the outside.

Well, lemme try this....

Kevin (Yamaha version) shot some footage of me so that my inability to navigate turn 5 could could be on display.... forever.....

I had a very hard time downloading / uploading this and managed to upload the version of the vid (to Youtube) that has sound - you'll need to turn off your volume....

looks like a fun track with the elevation changes etc..

one thing I noticed:

at 8:30 the bike came off pace and then lifted the arm (almost at the same time... You really should get the arm up first and then wait a moment to roll off the throttle... could save a collision..

Just a good habit to get into in case you got a guy 2" off your back tire getting ready to blow by you.. Gives them a chance to roll off themselves instead of a "oh damn"

Very good point Mr. B!
I did not even know that there was a rider behind me (figured Kev was the only one back there)! Of all the study I have done on my shortcomings (made obvious by the vid) I never picked up on that, thanks!

Now, how do I shave 5 seconds off of my lap times?

Randy, one lap I timed you as best I could off the video you were at 2:01 or 2:02. I'm NOT one to give advice, but I noticed as you went into turn 5 you waited really late to shift off your bike at turn in and it looked to me like you were unsettled. I noticed alot of the control riders (and I tried to emulate), that when ahead and slid off the bike earlier and had their feet placed several seconds before turn in; in my mind it gets your body correctly prepared (feet, hands, butt) so that you can focus all your energy and concentration on actually turning instead of getting your body set right. Seemed to help me focus better.

By the way, nice azz (the bike, i mean )
