Bentvalve down, car turned in front of him,

Besides what MJN said, I'll add that the concern of a broken thumb was confirmed... James is sporting a cast on his left hand/arm now.  But a broken thumb is small in comparison to the rest of the injuries.

Also of good news, the neck brace has been removed.  Without it to restrict him, I'm sure he'll be moving his head more.  I was only allowed in for about 5 minutes this evening, shift change, in order to drop off the balloon and a card.

I will be dropping off another card tonight, it is the type of card that can come from multiple people so, if any one visits him, please sign it.  I think he'd love to see all the signatures on it when he wakes up.  I was told today not to hold his hand or play with his fingers...

that was usually when he responded to me the most and would squeeze my hand back.  He has an IV on the underside of his wrist that they were having complications with every time he moves his hand.

I will make one more trip tonight when on my way up to my new home.  I hope they do surgery tomorrow and soon take out the breathing tube so he can start to wake up.

Hav'nt been on the site for awhile. Read this post and was quite shocked.

   Have a speedy recovery BV.

Scootergirl, thank you for sending me an e-mail and giving me a heads up about James. I'm currently in Canada right now and am shocked to read the sad news. It sounds like his recovery will be long. I am willing to help with his pits. I have years of dog training/showing/etc. and would be willing to help out since it will be a while before he can get them out for exercising, grooming, etc. Are the kids being kept in someone's home? Let them know that I would be willing to share the responsibility or relieve them. I won't have internet service after tomorrow because I will be on the road until I return to Washington. If anyone has information about how I can help you can e-mail me at Apsen101@aol.com. My prayers are with James and to the all the awesome people on this site. I will check this site tomorrow then again when I return on the 11th.

glad to read he is makin' headway back to the land of the livin'.

the bones are always fixable.. I'm glad to hear his noggin is getting back to business as usual. I believe possible head impacts scare me more than anything in a crash.

Anyway.. bent.. now that your back in one piece (maybe a few days from when I type this, but anyway) know that I sent a little prayer up for ya and I'm glad you are doing better even if we don't see eye to eye all the time.

hope you got some hot nurses and steamy sponge baths coming up.

I'm heading down to Harborview Monday. I'll be in my car so I'll have some room to take something to him. Let me know if there's anything I can deliver for anyone, to his room.

Damn! I'm off the board for a few days, and look what happens!

Great to hear some good news! Thanks for the update!

I called just before 12:30 to see f I could pop in to see him. He was getting prepared for surgery. Should take between 4 to 5 hours for the operation. I'll try to see him tonight.

James, I hope your surgery goes well and you get to have all that other crap taken off your body soon. I hate to see you hooked up to so many machines and knowing you are in pain. I'll give you sponge bath when you get out...
