I spent a few hours taunting James today. Eric and Mike, from PNWRiders came to see him also. I made him workout pretty hard. He can respond to someone telling him to move his left foot and toes, either arm, left hand, head, and eyes. He couldn't open his eyes by himself yet, but his eyes did track movement when the nurse opened them to put in drops. He can definitely hear what's going on, but he's too sudated to respond verbally or with his eyes. He looks like he's trying to communicate, but his brain just isn't completely connected to the muscles right now (probably drug induced). His vitals respond when you tell him what to try to move.

I have a feeling he'll be waking up really soon. His colour is good, and his vitals look pretty good. He has some reading to do when he feels up to it.

He definitely has good friends looking out for his well being.

James has a hot blonde nurse today! I'm sure her patients love her. She found it sweet that he turned his head toward me so I could kiss him goodbye and he reaches for my hand when I tell him I have to leave.

If anyone goes to see James during the day, please do me a favor, I am concerned about something. I know James moves his right arm but it's probably from the large muscles - bicep/tricep. He has yet to squeeze his right hand or to move the right foot/toes, even after being tickled. At first I did not think much of this. This morning his nurse was doing his neuro tests and he still is not squeezing the right hand or moving the toes. He responds perfectly with the left side and that's even with the surgery to fix the femur!

Can someone please find out if the right side is ok and if they have done any scans or what not?

Status Update:

This evening when I arrived the ICU team was putting James back on his bed. They had him sitting in a chair for a bit today. He still isn't quite with us, but he's making progress. While the "Red Hot Smokin' Nurse" was cleaning his teeth, he was trying to talk. It was too quiet to understand, but he was saying what sounded like real words. Probably telling her "Let go of my damn tongue!".

He is completely off pain killers right now. The nurse said the groggy state is typical of an internal brain injury. He is able to move his right foot slightly. He's also trying to open his eyes now.

His wiring is coming back together again. His brain just needs to build a few new paths for the communication to progress more. Mental stimulation is the key now. The hospitol is going to move him out of the ICU soon. He's off the oxygen, and breathing on his own. His vitals all look good.

I read about 3/4 of his emails to him. He was trying to talk while I read them off, and his pulse stayed higher, so I know he was listening. Can someone finish the last 1/4 of the stack tomorrow? I won't be able to make it back to HMC until Thursday or Friday evening. Hopefully he comes to before that.

His nurse was hesitant to let me take the pic because she wasn't sure what kind of website the pic would end up on. Being in the pic with her made her more comfortable. She blushed when I told her I posted up that James had a hot nurse for the day. Much better then the male nurse he has had the past two nights. She didn't feel she looked her best, as it was the end of her shift. I assured her she still looked good.

I have no problem asking the hot ladies for pics.The first meet-up I was at down at Hooters Lake Union, the guys didn't have the gumption to ask the waitresses for pics with the bikes... so, I asked my waitress, after I asked if her boobs were real cause they were soooo big , to pose with another waitress on some of the guys bikes... well, she grabbed every waitress in there and we went outside for pics. Then out at the track late June, I saw two really hot chicks walking by and they asked me where the bathroom was... I said I'll tell ya if I can get a pic of you two for my boys to drool over, they giggled and complied... then I pointed to the obvious, about 20 feet from them, the sign said bathrooms.

I'll have my camera with me every visit and if the nurse is hot or even cute for that matter, I'll get pics for James and you guys. At any event I am at, if there are good looking women and you want pics of them, ask me... I can usually get girls to pose in manners they wouldn't for you guys and to say things that they usually wouldn't around you guys...
