Bentvalve down, car turned in front of him,

My wife called me a few minutes ago about one of her co-workers. She has Pitbulls, and if they get along with her dogs she may be able to take them as long as needed. I'll know more later today.

We have donations for him, tell your co worker that we will pay for the dogs food out of that money......

I already have the dog food covered. Let's put the rest toward his other expenses. He needs it more than I do right now.

Yup, I'm all over the puppy Chow as well it's easy enough to cover the food, just having trouble finding the dogs a TLF.

Right now I have $100 to help with the dog care. I'll post more about this situation as soon as I get the final call. Should be tonight.

I can tell James will be just fine... smartass and all is back!

Saw him this morning. He was strapped into a chair. They are going to take him in for x-rays of the thumb. New bandage on the left hand. Speech therapist was coming in this morning to do an eval and a swallow test to see if they can take out the feeding tube now that he is awake.

Right eye is slightly open and swelling looks like it's going down pretty fast. Left eye is open I'd say about 90%. His words are definitely more understandable. Sometimes he lets me play with his hand and rub his head and sometimes he doesn't. This morning he pulled his hand away from me but about a minute later he grabbed my hand. I asked him if he didn't like me playing with his fingers and he answer was "Well, maybe, maybe not!"

I couldn't help but laugh and smile.

He says he knows where he's at and why he is there. But when I asked him to tell me why he was there, he got quite and looked the other way. I took it as an understanding and he didn't want to talk about it. Every day I tell him where he is, what day it is and how many days he's been there. He knows there are people across the country sending well wishes and prayers. There are still emails coming in every day... thanks guys for those, they are fun to read to him.

Now the important part and you can decide amungst yourselves whether to adhere to this request. For today, he doesn't really want visitors. He didn't understand the word "visitors" when I asked him... he said, "do i want what?" "do you want visitors? is it ok if friends come to see you?" and i listed the guys who have come to see him already. He said Doug, Mike, and Eric were ok but not anybody else who he doesn't really know too well. He said he just wants to sleep and he's really tired.

I had to leave and get going to work around 9:30 and he told me to... have a nice day...:D

Glad to hear things are looking up given all that's happened

It sounds like later this afternoon the dogs are going to be taken to a boarding kennel. There have been numerous people trying to find boarding with no luck. The cost of of boarding is still being determined, but looks to be around $20.00 per day. As you can see this is going to add up fast. Any ideas or suggestions to this would be great.

Mike

P.S. Thank You all for the help James has recieved. Things are getting better everyday. It appears his rent is covered for this month and next.

Good news to hear he's doing better!
