Bentvalve down, car turned in front of him,

The money raised here (assuming thats what is being used) will last for a while, no?
Who do we talk to about that now that Andy is gone.
I know I just paid a few of his bills out of the fund we set up over at PNWRIDERS, but that will only last so long.

Mike

It sounds like later this afternoon the dogs are going to be taken to a boarding kennel. There have been numerous people trying to find boarding with no luck. The cost of of boarding is still being determined, but looks to be around $20.00 per day. As you can see this is going to add up fast. Any ideas or suggestions to this would be great.

Mike

P.S. Thank You all for the help James has recieved. Things are getting better everyday. It appears his rent is covered for this month and next.
Just need to know where to send some money too to help cover that cost...

There were folks on the NSR board that were willing to take the dogs, they have empty back yards and such, Have you been over there?

I just need details on the pooches temperments, and if they are used to hanging outside or not.

I need some details and we can prolly get em' in a back yard here in the next week or so.

I will check over there.

The dogs are 13yrs. and 2-3 yrs. old. as far as temperment, when I've been around them they were friendly, but things can change in unfamiliar environments.

They were his house dogs and and kept inside.

Thanks Mike

Sorry if I've been neglecting my updates over here, hard to keep everything straight, anyways...

I just got back from visiting James and it was so nice to be able to talk with him. We actually had a little bit of a conversation although it was a bit slow. He looks about 100% better then he two days ago and about 1000% better then last week. It takes him awhile to wake up and start talking but when he does he's pretty alert. He remembers a lot of people but I'm not sure about how much he remembers of the last couple weeks. His biggest concern is "the bulls" as he called them. He wants to see them but he knows they are safe.

I asked him a couple of times about visitors and he said mumbled some things and then said "Saturdays are good". I asked him "Saturdays?" He replied, "yeah, Saturday the 1st"... lol. So he's a little bit loopy still but things are getting so much better! I think if anyone wants to visit him it's ok, but probably just people who know him. I actually didn't know him too well, just rode with him and he knew who I was.

If any of you do visit him, just to let you know his answers sometimes come slowly. If you ask him a question it takes him awhile to respond. I thought he wanted me to leave but I just wasn't giving him enough time to respond. I showed him a little bit of the threads and he was suprised there was so much on there. I also showed him all the pictures I printed out, he said he remembered all of them but I'm not sure if he really remembers the pictures from our last ride or not. I asked him if he wanted to say anything to everybody on the forum and he said "yeah...." then kinda fell asleep so sorry, lol, but it'll have to wait.

He seems in pretty good spirits all things considering but since he can't read anything and his TV is probably a 13 inch, I think he appreciates visitors.

Well, that's all for today from me
Eric

It sounds like we have found a place for the dogs.
Thanks Rev for the help at NSR.
Looks like I'll be meeting Jeff(Drinky cow) in the morning.

Dude I just got about 2"s taller, that is a huge relief... Let Drinky know that any food and such is covered here and I'll head over to NSR... In a minute.

Just got back from seeing James awhile ago. Man what a difference from Tues. I walked in and he was watching tv so we talked about basic stuff rides we went on, what day it was, etc.(and how Kawasaki's are the best performance bike out there). We looked at a bike magazine pictures because he seemed interested, he could not identify them. I did not bring up the accident because he does not need to get upset.

He could identify his dogs and which one was Willy and Lucy, and knows they are safe.

He was starting to doze off so I waited til he woke again to say goodbye. When he said goodbye he had both eyes open left as much as before the accident and the right one 1/2 way.

He is looking better but has a long way to go, to get back to the old James.

Willy & Lucy
Of more concern right now is the dogs. Is there anyone who can board the dogs. His boss said that the dogs need to be out of the human society come friday. They are in protective custody but not together and are curtained off from the rest of the dogs due to their breed. They need to get out of there. Can anyone take them even for a few days while some other arrangement is saught?

HI,

I just returned from Canada and am now able to help in any way with the dogs.  I board dogs in my home situation so I am equipped to handle Willy and Lucy and give them a home environment.   Kenneling dogs at a boarding kennel is very expensive and stressful on dogs so it would be nice to avoid that if there is a better alternative.  I am still available to help if it is needed.   Also, I read in a post that he does not want visitors except a certain few people listed.  I'd like to visit him, but I want to respect what he wants.  Please let me know about the dogs and visitors.  Call if you want to make immediate arrangements.  253-539-2872 James, here are my online prayers, hugs and kisses to you for the day!!

Hey guys, any update on his right side. Does he have any movement yet? Things seem to be looking up, those doctors must have done one hell of a job.

James is looking better today. For the week that I've been checking in, he's made improvements of about 10,000%. He was a bit tired, but he was responding to questions. He looked bored, so we took him for a cruise around the hospital.

We started a new sport. We named it "Hall Drifting". The chair has 4 wheels that swivel around, so steering it take some effort. Everytime we took a corner, I'd slide the chail sideways to make it feel like it was drifting. He didn't mind, but he was glad to be out of his room. I think it would have been more entertaining if the chair coul lean into the corner, but drifting will have to do for now.

He couldn't tell me who I was. I told him my name again. I felt like I was introducing myself to him all over again, but that's cool. He's concerned about his dogs, and he wants to see them.

I decided to try a different approach. I showed him a few pictures on my computer. When I showed him the picture of his bike, and my car, he could identify the bike. I asked him who owned the car, and he wasn't sure. I had him look at a picture of my old Hayabusa, and asked him who owened it. He said "TruWrecks". He didn't put the two together, but he was trying. Before I left he wanted to tell me that I wrecked my bike a while ago. Bingo! We have a connection again!

If anyone visits please help with his recovery by asking questions that require though. No "yes" or "no" questions. Ask for details. Be patient. He might take a while to dig up the information, but he should get it back.

Have him count from 1 to 10, and back.
Ask him what day of the week it is. Correct him if he gets it wrong. The nurses tell him the day every morning.
Have him move his left hand finger one at a time.
Get him to squeeze with him right hand. He can do it, but it's very week right now.
Talk about the dogs.
Talk about motorcycles. He's okay with that topic. If you have a picture of you and your bike, that he's seen before, show it to him and ask if who it is.

Anything that makes him think is great.

Doug

Thanks for the update.

Looks like he's out of danger now, but now he has a long recovery road ahead.  Does he have a laptop?  Do hospitals have wifi or internet access??

Good News! Drinky-Crow (Jeff? I think) over at NSR has James Dogs in his backyard. They seem happy to be back together. Also Shocker Also from the NSR Boards is bringing over an unused "igloo" dog house for them.

Now we just add water, attention and Food and we should have fairly happy pooches till bent is back at it.

The nurse told ne today that it's going to be 4 to 6 weeks before he can put any weight on his left leg, so it's going to be a while before he's ready to take the dogs back full time.

He's asking to have the dogs brought by very soon, so he can see them. I will not be working on Monday, so I can assist with that either tomorrow or Monday. Hopefully we can work that out for him. That should help the dogs to know he's also okay.
