His wounds are for the most part all healed up. Nurse said last night that the mirror thing wouldn't matter with him because he is not disfigured and looks normal. His bruising is gone and so is the swelling. He looks good now with all the tubes out. If I showed him a mirror, he'd probably say, "what the hell you showing me that for?" The nurse said the mirror issue usually comes into play with disfigurement and with women.
Last night he asked about the accident but only wanted me to tell him if I "knew for sure" why he was in the hospital. I told him and he wanted to know which bike he was on and if anyone else was hurt. He understood last night and did not get depressed... but since his short term memory is effected, he doesn't remember this morning what he was told last night.
