Best price on a NEW GEN II

ok, here in washington state a dealer called everett power sports has made the claim that he will beat any price that is advertised or stated by a dealer.
im hoping that i can find a dealer in washington that's lower than $10,500.00
now thats before 9.8% tax and freight and prep costs. so maybe if i just tell him i want the bike at that price "out the door"..

anyway he does not have any customers there now as is typical this time of year and maybe right before Christmas would be a good time to tell him my demands.:D

What do u think

I live in Florida and have an offer for a new '08 orange busa for $9550. Add 6% tax and doc fees and it would be out the door for $10,418.66.

It seems like a good price. My only concern is that it is a '08 and kbb has retail at $9500, trade in for good condition at $6800. NADA has trade in at 8200 (according to the sales manager).

So...should I pull the trigger or try getting a better deal?? 4 months ago the dealer was running a $9999 special. Now Suzuki is giving a $500 factory rebate which means the dealer really is getting what he was selling it for 4 months ago. Any comments? JJ

javajon,

I'd say you've got a great deal there. If you can find a better one, by all means, but realize that while a dealer has many hidden ways to make money, at some point they'll be selling at a loss. I wouldn't be surprised if that deal is already causing a trickle of blood, but ya never know when a dealer might be willing to bleed even a bit more - of course, that dealer may not be around very long if they choose to bleed that much.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the comment. I've gone back and drooled over them a few times. They are also selling some used '05s but haven't really priced them....

Is that OTD? if not what is tax, title, freight, etc?? Jon

Tax and title chargers are irrelevant since they will be the same no matter where you buy. They are government charges that are not under the control of the dealer.

Freight is a comletely negotiable charge, and bogus, since Suzuki already has a dollar amount for freight included in the dealers cost figure.

The best way to compare an offer is to tell the dealer that you'll be dealing with tax, title and tags on your own and that you just need to know what dollar amount they'll need to let the bike go with a temp tag. That way, their "break down" of charges doesn't matter - either they've got a good price or they don't. So much easier than tryin' to figure out whose charging what dollar amount for which part of the transaction (bike, setup, freight, processing fees, tax, title, tags, and any other labels they want to dream up).

Best of luck!

I would agree with tax and title. Bottom line out the door is important since freight, assembly fee are costs that the dealer adds in to pad the "low price". I got a quote for $9550 with no add ons. A dealer in Lakeland Florida is selling the Busa for $8990 but adds in about $500 extras which he will not negotiate. So the price is the same here at home or in Lakeland.....

I got my 08 for $10,140 for the bike and total for eveything O.T.D. including 2 helmets,2 tinted shields, and gloves came out to $11860.00
that's not bad for here in california.

Well I just reserved thier last one over the phone today (Blue and Back coor scheme). Total out the door price including freight to my front door $10,194.00. I'll have to pay TX tax but got one heck of a deal. And very nice people to deal with also. Beats every quote I got in Houston by $2500.00.
