Boeing strike

I’ve never endorsed censorship and my opinion is not swayed by who transgresses. Still living here. Always.
If an entity doesn’t want something known, don’t create it. The decision to get a vaccine is the choice of the individual.
I can agree with all that.

BTW: I believe we have met in person, some 20+ years ago or close. I introduced myself, started a conversation, you got distracted by something, I wasn't sure you heard me and mingled somewhere else.

Which bashes did you attend?
20 years is a long time lol. I think it was Pointe West near Eureka Springs. I was riding a red and black ‘05 so it would have been shortly after that. I roomed with Semi who snores like nothing I’ve ever experienced. He is a great guy and we really hit it off. It was during my drinking years and all I remember is Cap enticing me with Jager during the evening party. Pretty sure a guy all decked out in fancy gear went down during a ride at a leisurely pace. If I remember correctly, I went again the next year along with my ex.

It's gonna rain cats and dogs and thunder, because for the first time I have something I do agree with Wuzza.

Taylor Swift is a self made massive success, there is nothing bubblegum about her, no scandals and a great role model for all her young fans.
You ever listen to her music.....?

5 grand daughters has given me this misfortune....all of her songs are about some sort of break up......if it were me, I'd hate to be involved with her as if anything should go south, you're sure to get a song written about you...in bubblegum fashion.....

Somebodies net worth doesn't impress me, and taste in music is a personal thing....

She took her platform and used it to present her political ideology to all those impressionable minds that will do what she says just because of who she is...........no thanks....

You can’t eliminate that dynamic. In this country it is defended by the first amendment. If someone is diverted by Trump’s rhetoric or Zerks’ posts, it is on that someone alone.
It’s still better, in my humble opinion, than the alternative.
These celebrities know this as well yet still use their platform to push their personal agenda.......I realize there's no way to stop it but it still isn't right by any stretch of the imagination....

Expressing their opinions is not right? Maybe by your imagination, and I'm not saying you're alone in this realm of thought, but it doesn't make it wrong in the mind of everyone.

You've read my other posts to put this into context.....

If we look at the fan base of a person such as this and you can see the issue....some of these fans go absolutely crazy over anything she says....

I'm not saying she's an evil monster by any means, but she has a powerful platform and it needs to be carefully wielded....

I still say it's on the fans to use their brains, not Swift to stay silent on what she thinks. We can agree to disagree, it looks like that's where this is going yet again.

There's little difference between her and all the other "bubble gum" artists out there...half of them have honorary degrees and half of them all donate to charities (mostly for a tax write off).

Sometimes you surprise me....

Too bad it’s only ‘sometimes’. Try naming two bubble gum artists who have honorary degrees. And by having earned enough money to donate thousands or millions you have a bad opinion of them because they utilize those donations as write offs? If they didn’t, unlike us, they’d have to….pay taxes on it.

She didn’t push any agenda. She didn’t even say vote for so and so. She merely said she backs Harris. And BTW, a bigly number of her minions aren't even old enough to vote.

Naw, just thunder showers tonight and Wednesday and Thursday. I love thunder coming off the mountains.

I'll give it to you....you're a little old to be a "Swifty" but good on ya.....

As for me.....no thanks......

Her music does nothing for me and that is all I judge her on.....I could care less about her honestly......until she gets up on her podium and expresses her views to impressionable minds....she's not alone in this but is the most recent.....

What I can't believe is she is even a topic on here with our age....maybe we are all going through our teenagehood again....

Her fans are young and impressionable.......she (and many others) use their platforms to spread their ideology...in this case it is relatively harmless but it could go either way very easily.....there are times when celebrities can be dangerous...imagine if she told her fans to turn to violence towards political candidates.....what would this thread look like then....

She is not just a regular every day citizen expressing her views.

I will agree that is going in the direction you alluded to...the "agree to disagree" route...

To me this conversation is about whether celebrities should voice their personal opinions publicly. Period. As usual, you attempt to slight my genuineness.
Alice Cooper’s comment that you posted, insults every fan by implying a celebrity’s stance will affect their own, and at the same time he is using that very tool by voicing his opinion publicly, as is his right.

His opinion is for fans to think for themselves and not to follow Anyone blindly...and yet you find fault in that too, as it's either that, or follow everything I the celebrity say.
I cannot rationally process that kind of thinking, as it is damned if you do, damned if you don't, you will disagree with both sides.
Makes no sense to me at all.

To advise someone to not be swayed is to assume, or be concerned, that they might. That's all I'm saying. If somebody tells me not to rob a bank, I have to assume they thought that I might. I am obviously not against celebrities voicing their opinions publicly. I don't always agree with them, and I can voice that as well. I probably shouldn't have used the word insult. Maybe I should have said presume weak. Btw I like Alice Cooper, Welcome to My Nightmare is on my phone. I'm not going to like it any less because of this. In my mind, there is no connection between his opinions and his musical talent.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't? I don't see it as damned either way, it's just conversation.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't, is a phrase referring to not be able to agree with anything.
He is a guy stating basically that anyone who may have influence should not use it to sway anyone else, and he is encouraging people to think for themselves and make up their own minds.
So regardless of any opinion on any subject, how can one find fault in a statement like that?

Were you not a teenager once?

Isn’t that what teenagers do, they learn to date, to fall in love and out of love, to learn about relationships, to chase the girl you want, even if she is dating someone else?

Were you the odd one one out?

Alice Cooper thinks that advice worthy, so be it. My opinion of his opinion doesn’t matter. Putting his advice, or opinion is, regardless, using the very same power of fame that jellyrug is arguing celebrities shouldn’t use. I pointed that out to jelly. That’s all.
I’m not saying there is a problem with what Cooper said. Personally, I feel like he’s reminding me not to be an idiot, as if I might be one. Likewise Swift didn’t advise anyone to vote for anyone, just to get out and vote.
I think everyone has the right to voice an opinion.

Trump is proclaiming that things that Harris and Ganz have said lead to the assassination attempts. How many perverse conservative gun owners are going to think retaliation?
That is not something to imagine. Trump is again passively trying to incite violence. It might not be his specific goal but his sights are getting what he wants at any cost.

I guess we can add Taylor Swift to the list with electric vehicles and homosexual celebrations, huh?
