there's a few, I think Warbaby is talking about the place at the pumpkin campgrounds area.  Long story but a few guys wound up getting pursued by the local PD for exceeding the posted speed limit ..... I'd wager to say they were only 3-4x over the speed limit

  anywho, was a fun ride, just farther than anyone thought it would be from the overlook.

Lots of places to stock up on things, just easier to import what you want

If I make it, guess I'll have to bring the rear seat & cargo net. Last year I didn't drink in Robbinsville, but made up for it in Maggie Valley.

There's a speed limit up there? Kidding- I was actually pretty careful up there, and still managed one close call. I was ridin' blind last time, but this time I have a Bel listening device. Got a cam & mount to play with too.

Thanks, I'm trailering up also. I can extend the same offer to others that may be riding up, once I get confirmation on my time off.

I am trying to firm up my vacation time April14-17. I should know for sure tomorrow morning. What is the concensus on lodging? I am leaning heavily toward a house at Phillips', but would like to know if anything else looks firm and if so, what it will cost?

I am in- vacation time confirmed.  Look forward to meeting you guys. I can't wait to get back up to the Smokies. ALL the riding up there is excellent, just the Dragon is extra extreme. My favorite is actually the Cherohala. The Dragon is over too quickly. Should have a few others coming up with me. Anyone else up for staying at Phillips?

Anyone with the latest on accomodations? I am ready to make a reservation, unless someone else is hoping to share expenses for a room. No axe murderers here, just a few Florida riders looking to have fun in the Smokies for a few days. I really like Robbinsville for the money, but know the resorts in the area are nicer. Open to suggestions, will PM my number to anyone who would like to discuss it in person.

hey Bronc, I think Vman was organizing the accomodations. I'm open to just about whatever, the CROT resort is fine with me, or whatever..... I know if we have enough folks Vman was going to see about renting some cabins.

I am still in for the cabins, if we can get enuff to commit to the trip. My second choice would be the Phillips Motel. Much nicer than the CROT.

if it wasnt soo far from my current house I would buy a place up there.... its just a little too far for a weekend get away on a regular basis
