Where is the Gap? In what state?
well thats tricky
the gap runs from western NC to eastern TN, though *most* of it is in TN. All the places we have been discussing staying at are in NC.
Where in VA are you? You should definately come down for this event....going to be a blast
not to mention the roads in that area are fan-freakin-tastic

I'm in South Central Va, in Lynchburg. Sounds like a good time. Keep me posted on the details.
ok, I'll admit I'm a lazy choad sometimes and didnt bother to look through other threads/posts but have we decided on where we are stayin? I know our friends from farther away will like to get things booked so they can make travel arrangements

The poll is tied two votes for Phillips and two for the cabins. Me personally, there dosent seem to be enuff intrest in this trip to book both cabins. I think it would be the best place to stay, but I am not will to be stuck with a $480+ bill on my card with just 2 or 3 others commited to coming. And I know no one else would be either.
In that case I say lets call it and stay at either the Phillips, motel at the Dam, or the resort. In that order.....

Sounds like a winner to me. If we get 10 yes I will be theres, then the cabins would make more sense.seems to be that we have 10-12 folks that have said they want to be at the event. I think its time to start some PM convo's with those folks and get some answers

I know Busanut lives pretty close and was just going to drive in each day I think.... Fireman on a busa mentioned maybe taking Busanut up on his offer of free lodging, so that would be 14 folks....
I'm gonna figure at least 4 others will have some sorta conflict, leaving us with 7-9 folks that will be settling down somewhere in that area. Cabins are fine with me provided they have a paved driveway, can accomodate 7-9 large vehicles/trailers and are within the $$$ of other places.
I looked at the rates for Tapoco lodge.... $79/night .... it better be a lot nicer for the extra $30/night
and they dont appear to allow us to maintain our own heat source in the yard

I'm still in and would rather stay at the Cabins I think. I need some more info on them. I found out that it will be just me and my wife again. The guy that was also going to come with me just bought his Busa and didnt want to ride the dragon on his third time out on it.I told him theres no better place to learn than the dragon. The reason I want to stay somewhere other than the CROT is that Kathy may want to go somewhere during the day and last time didnt want to drive the Dragon to get out of there. But heres the deal if most people want to stay at CROT you know that I will be there I had a great time there last year. What ever works I'm in.

How much it is gonna be, depends on where we decide to stay. The CROT will run about $50/night. The Phillips will be the same with better accomidations. If the cabins are chosen, it depends on how many decide to go.
The cabins will sleep around 17 or so. It 10 are firm on going, it would be $52.80 for both nights.
Here is a copy of the email I got from Ron(owner of the cabins).
Kevin:
Both houses are open that weekend. We normally rent both for the weekend at
$600 plus $60 tax. We could let you all have both for the off-season rate of
$480 plus $48 tax. Together they sleep 17 comfortably. A few more might not
be too bad. The Ridge has the large 30x50 garage with pool table foosball,
and pingpong. Plenty of room here for 15-18 Busas!
