I will never loose intrest in going to the Gap. I should just buy a place in that area......
if it wasnt soo far from my current house I would buy a place up there.... its just a little too far for a weekend get away on a regular basis
That's ironic! Every time I'm there, I eyeball "For Sale" signs on property... particularly at the first hill top after leaving the resort on the Dragon. I see a modest pre-fab cabin with a side garage for frequent escapes from the real world.

I think it would make an excellent choice. With a location in that area, put it on a rental program when its not in use. It should pay for itself everyear. Plus, you have your own place to go.

Well busaologist,  If I can get a kitchen pass as soon as I get back from the Horn of Africa, I'll be there. So wish me luck when I break it to the wifee!

I vote april at the dragon or in a parking lot,, I dont care, just wanna hang with some fellow busa riders.

It seems more than likely we won't all be staying at the same place, but I hope to meet all of you up there. As far as hanging out & bulljiving after the day is done, can we agree on one place to meet and socialize? All the places in that area are pretty close, and the rides in between are nice. Looks like We are staying at the Phillips'.

Hey bronc I used to live in Florida,, Tampa, I brought my bike down to clearwater beach looking for people to ride with, I seen hundereds in one parking lot,,It was awesome, but no curves to ride, they said they had on and off ramps to the interstate , that was the most curves around, lol . but anyway, Im here in Georgia, and youll go by me on the way, Maybe Ill meet up with you guys and follow, or lead, cause I know the back roads to there and its one heck of a ride from my house to the gap

I usually run up I95 to I26, and head into Ashville, stopping in Maggie Valley along the way, but this time I am on a mission- heading straight to Robbinsville. Do you have a quicker route to suggest? I'd like to ride up, but in reality I will be trailering a few of us up.Looking for the most direct & painless route.26 to 41 isn't bad, but I know there is no substitute for local knowledge. We will probably be leaving here in the evening, arriving in Robbinsville in the am of thursday April 14. BTW, I have some friends up your way in Clayton & Ellijay.

Cool, Ellijay is only 20 east of me, I work with folks from ellijay we go over there to go to T.W.O (two wheels only) resturaunt its out on Hwy 60 Best place around to ride, I like it much better than the dragon. When I ride to the dragon I always go across the cherohala skyway and come down in robbinsville.

This will be my first time at Deal's Gap. I'll make sure to have my new diablo's mount by then, can't wait.

To all the riders that made the bash last year, can you give us newbies that have never been there, and I know that this is subject to change, but what was the weather like in the daytime, and at night temp wise. I will be riding up, and I want to pack accordingly.

hmm, well depends really ... last year it was 70s during the day and 50s at night ... or something close to that. I can tell you that when we go to the skyway you will be warm at the bottom and get dang cold at the top, then warm again at the bottom .... if you want to get a bag or two together I can haul them up there. Might have room on my trailer if you dont feel like riding the whole way. Also might have recruited a guy from work, so he might come as well.

Zuk, if you might have room on your trailer to haul my bike, or room in your vehicle to haul some stuff either one would be appreciated. As the date gets closer, just keep me in the back of your mind for the above quote. I will help with the petrol if you want.

I may have some room in the trailer. One of the guys I work with is undecided. I know I will have room in the truck. I plan on leaving midday on Friday.

I should have room on the trailer for ya Fireman. I'm probably leaving pretty early on friday since its a pretty long haul up there. At the very least I'll have room for your stuff and can meet ya on thursday to pick that up. Never tried putting two busa's on the trailer but if for some reason they don't both fit, there's always the bed of the truck

Darn it looks like everyone attending is already there. LOL Seems like all the posts are from NC,GA, VA. Any Texans out there riding up? Wouldn't mind some company for the trip.

I've got a little farther to travel- about 12 hours- still not too bad. Trailering up with a couple other people, split up the driving.............Hope the ole blazer is up to another haul. Been up there dragging one bike, but never with three. Does a fine job here in the flatlands. Mountains are another story.
