Busa Bash III

Info on the Phillips can be found here.

I have stayed there many times. Never felt the bike was in danger. There is a fire in front of the motel. As for cooking, I am sure we could fire up some grills around the rooms.

The backside of the Phillips' where the cabins are isn't quite as quaint the front half you see on the website, but it is still a cool little place in a great location.

ok, looks good to me .... who's calling to get a group rate on 15 rooms ?

Checked with 'em middle of last week and rserved a cabin. Wasn't sure what everyone was doing. They did have everything left open.Got the smaller cabin, may have some room if someone needs it. Whatever the case, someone call so we can hang out together. Their rates are pretty cheap to start with, especially if you start splitting rooms.

The Phillips rates are some of the cheapest in the area. The have cottages, basically small house with 3 bedrooms. Those go for between $125-$150/night. Their rooms are $35 for a single to $55 for a double.

I would be up for one of the cottages. I may need a place for 2. My brother in law wants to come, but he hasnt given me an answer.

This is GrandpaBusa my son and I are planning on coming down for the weekend and staying at Fontana. We should arrive late in the evening on the 14th and will be staying through Sunday. If anything changes e-mail me at JeremyLayton (at) hotmail (dot) com

I'll be there in 71. That's about 71 too many.

Ok. I just called the Phillips and they are fully available that weekend. I went ahead and made my reservation. Here is the phone number for the Phillips Motel-828-479-3370. If you want to visit their site, click here.

As the weeks go by we will need different people to bring a few items.

grills
coolers
beverages(since the County is Dry)

Also for grub. Do we want to cook out everynight? The only close places to eat are a Wendys and a Mexican place. There is a grocery store in Robbinsville we can pick up hot dogs, hamburgers or even a steak to grill.

The Phillips Motel has a resturant that serves a great breakfast.

As for the rides. Do you guys just want to hang around the Gap and the Skyway? From Robbinsville, we can head back out to 28 and ride it to the CROT at the base of the Gap. 28 is a road not to be missed. It is actually my favorite road in the area.

Or would you like to make a planned ride down into North Georgia?

There are so many great roads n the area, we can ride sun up till sun down and still miss some of them.

Make your reservations soon. Believe me when I say this place will fill up fast as the season approaches.

Okay, sounds good. I just made reservations at Phillips for a motel room for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (April 14/15/16). I might spend a night or two at the CROT before moving on to Phillips (I'm a glutton for punishment).

By the way, Highway 28 is my favorite boogie road too. I usually do my warm-ups on 28... less traffic/less enforcement.

As for cooking out and hanging out, I'm open but I'll probably pass on a ride to Georgia.

Let's go. I'm ready!
