COPS!! RUN!!??

if there was a way to predict that I would get away with it... doesn't sound like a risk... go 4 it! I would run prior to the lights if I was doing something wrong...
once the lights r on you're screwed by then they've got your tags...
I've always pulled over in the past and more than once got screwed. I've always been polite/respectful and still 5 out of 6 times got screwed for it. Not to long ago I really got screwed out of state. Yes, I was speeding, yes I slowed as soon as I saw the cop with the radar gun, yes I pulled over as soon as they all rolled in from the entrance ramp, yes I did everything right, yes I admited I didn't have an excuse for speeding, yes, all my paper work was legit, yes to doing everything else that is appropriate..... in the end like I told them after paying my bail, impound charges, court fees, lawyer fees, incurring so many other additional costs, etc..... "You'll never get me again!"
Only if it's plausible to say I didnt see you. I run every time I can, but if it's obvious that they are trying to pull me over I would never run.
Just like stated earlier, I would never try to run in town thats just too dangerous and stupid, but on the wide open interstate if the situation is just right..........................I'm gone!!

If I am out in the middle of nowhere, and no one is on the road for 10 miles on either direction, I will open it up sometimes. I don't have any pity for anyone that speeds, gets caught, then whines because his lawyer didn't get him off.

I don't speed, so I would never have the necessity to run.
I don't get good mileage if I speed, and with gas being so expensive, I watch the l/100 km more than the whoopee needle.

If I blow by a cop at 150 mph, you can darn well bet that I won't be stopping or slowing down for a couple more minutes cause by the time he or anyone else gets mobilized I'll be several miles down the road and able to make the get away. The only places I do those speeds, there's usually an escape plan.
If I am speeding and I see a trooper pull a u-turn, sure I'll slow down, but I aint' stopping until he rolls up and gives me the woop woop....you gotta be sure its you he's after.
I'd never run on a congested freeway or local roads, too many variables. That being said, I probably wouldn't be doing anything worth getting pulled over for in these areas anyway.
That's my 2 cts.

Running is immiture. There is no other way around it. All running does is give other Sport Bikers a bad image.
When I see the blues I just pull over at the most convenient spot and cooporate. If it's a BS call on the officer's side then take politely and calmly with them. If that doesn;t work, sign the citation and go along your merry way until the court date.
Court days suck for everyone, but especially for the ticketing officer. They are usually called into court on off days or after their shift. Guess what? Unless the officer has something to prove they normally won't show. Without a Plaintiff there is no way to prove you did anything wrong.
If I take a chance it will be in the court room.

I fear that you are correct and that I may have overstated the % of BS. Watching the news last night they were interviewing a CHP officier regarding a high speed pursuit of several motorcycles this past week and he clearly stated that the motorcycles will out run CHP cruisers in traffic and that the incidents were becoming increasingly common. Speeds of this chase were 100-120 mph, during which a young sailor and his girlfriend were thrown from their motorcycle at the overpass of the 805 & 8 and fell (flew?) 75 ft. to the ground below resulting in their deaths. I still feel those claiming to have eluded the police compared to those who have actually done it is still disproportionate. Those that attempt it and fail either go to jail or worse to the morgue.(Warputer @ May 24 2007,14:30)There's a few county popo & highway patrolman here in SC that would disagree with that statement.

SAN DIEGO – Two people killed in high-speed motorcycle crash Sunday night in Mission Valley have been identified as an active-duty Navy man and his sister. They were Christopher Lee Williamson, 21, who was stationed at North Island Naval Air Station and Rachel Farrelly, 25, from Imperial Beach, the county Medical Examiner's Office said Monday.
Officers tried to stop the pair for speeding as they were riding in a group with two other motorcycles heading east on Interstate 8 at Taylor Street just after 7 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said. The driver accelerated to over 100 mph and overtook a second CHP unit at about 110 to 115 mph at Hotel Circle, the CHP said.
The driver then took the ramp to southbound Interstate 805 at 75 to 80 mph and struck the left guard rail, CHP officials said.
Both the driver and the rider were thrown off the bike and over the side, landing some 75 feet below in a parking lot on Camino del Rio South, where they died. The ramp was closed until just before 6 a.m. as authorities investigated.
CHP officer Rob Sanchez said the other motorcyclists did not stop. The Medical Examiner's office said the pair were originally from Missouri.

I don't ride a the beautiful Busa, but I do ride a GSXR 1K. I did have an opportunity to ditch an officer in traffic. I was 10 MPH over the posted limit and 5 MPH faster then I normally travel. I was getting away from a cage that wouldn't get off my 6. I tried changing lanes already. So I kicked it up and moved away from the jerk and was just rolling off the throttle and getting comfy and I have lights in my mirrors.
I just hit the blinker safely made my way to the side and stopped. I talked with the cop and he actually let me go with a warning.
I have been pulled over 4 times in 22 years of driving. I'm 50/50 for getting out of tickets and getting them.
I was lucky. I now granny around town. LOL

Way back in time maybe, but it only because I didn't see them go by the other way and turn around. I just happened to go down that dirt road to use the public rest bush and heard them go back by at a high rate of speed. It's nice to know your area. But not know unless I really didn't notice. Which would only be on a couple of roads, too much to lose.
