Nope, not worth it and it just screws up things for other sportbike riders when the popo hates us all equally.

Mostly probably not! all_coholic.gif Did it once in California by semi-accident.

Situation would have to be super perfect with an almost guarantee. That situation doesn't really exsist. I don't like pissing cops off. I'd rather them be my friend. A better chance of getting in less, and hopefully, no trouble.

(dmrowe @ May 20 2007,22:10) 99% of the stories you hear about people running from the cops and beating them is BS.  You can't outrun a police radio and you damn sure aren't going to outrun a helicopter.
There's a few county popo & highway patrolman here in SC that would disagree with that statement.  wink.gif
It depends on your skills and your location. If you are an expert rider, you know where you are and you know you have time to get away before any chopper could gets in on the action. You are not getting caught. Especially in the city. I know this one guy who does not and will not stop for the law. For him it's just easier to get away. Yeah I know. Guy's like him make it hard for people like me and it s#x. The law over here declares it open season every year on jap bikes. It's terrible. I have dedicated sport bike friends ( 4 of them ) buy cruisers because they are sick of it. They still have their sport bikes but hardly jump on them anymore and as for the guy who runs from the law. He bought a nice lookin custom victory that he has no problem doing 12 oclocks with and says now the popo don't even look at him. Under the right conditions an expert rider knows when he could run and knows he's not getting caught. Remember. They could do things with a bike you couldn't and make it look easy because for them it is. Just my opinion.

Does it count when you're 15 and on a dirt bike?Cop comes in the field after ya in his cruiser.Mopar with a 440[showing my age].Well that 440 can't keep up with a 175 Yamaha wide open across a bumpy field firedevil.gif
That was 28 years ago and I still laugh when I think how I went 1/2 a mile to his 100yards

Like I said before,on the street no way.

Nope, got a get outta jail free card. No need to run.
Very very stupid thing to do. Not worth it at all. Just think, I could kill someone or cause him/her to kill himself or someone else while he/she is chasing me. SHOCKED.gif I couldnt live with that.

Get a ticket, pay for it (or go to court), sleep at night in my bed. Wake up in the morning & ride again!

never really thought about it,i have looked in the air before and checked for chopper before opening it up on a strait.
i think you tend to forget about wats in the air sometimes because you always think about the police being in cars and stuff.
i dont think i would run from them tho.i like my licence and bike to much and if i lost it i probberly be really peed at myself for doing something really twattish.

ran a few times, now I just pull over and try my luck talking myself out of it. my wife worked as a dispatcher for 9.5 years. I figured it would be too embarassing for her if I got caught. never really thought about wrecking.... but that's probably true for all who lost it in the chase. running days are over.

(BusaWhipped @ May 20 2007,16:41) Speeding = Misdemeanor
Running = Felony

I'll take Misdemeanor for $200 Alex.
actually its not a felony to run.. atleast not in maryland... it is a criminal offence... but not a felony... kinda in between... and example i have is my best bud... ran on a 750, got caught, 30 hours community service... 1 year probation un-supervised, and 12 points on your liscence....

This is Maryland so maybe some of your guys laws are different.. but here it is NOT a felony charge....  beerchug.gif

Edit: He got away but they got his tag # thank god hes alive...

+1 cool.gif Just not worth it. Pay the cash and move on.

No way.
Too much to lose.
I figure as much as I do … ahem… break the law.. Getting caught is the price to pay for all the fun I have.

Gonna play, ya gotta pay.. In ALL aspects of life.

last time i stooped. i should have ran same points if i stooped or ran.

Thought I would reply in here since it was fresh in my mind. Some friends and I went to Lunch Just now and I see this kid on a newer R6 go by. Didn't think anything about it. Then I hear sirens and the kid bolts! Weaving in and out of fairly heavy traffic and the cop right after him. Then a scooter Cop on a Beemer blasts by. Haven't heard how it ended up but this was just stupidity man. Heavy traffic, high probability of personal injury for him, the cops and anyone else unlucky enough to get in the way. To say nothing of the black eye it leaves on Motorcyclists in general and Sport Bike riders in particular.

A$$hat!
