Death sentence over five years later, finally!

In our efforts to become a civilized society the idea of killing certain criminals is well, uncivilized. We already house more prisoners than any other country, civilized or not. The last I checked it costs around $200 per day to house a prisoner. $200 times a million+ people (per day) is a lot of money. IMO the death penalty is more humane than warehousing a human being for life. Personally I’d choose death over life behind bars.

"Often?" not in the 21st century....

With the introduction of DNA and video evidence.....if a criminal is found guilty by irrefutable evidence, I am 100% more than happy to send them to death....
How many innocent people are you OK with sending to the electric chair or gas chamber? As long as it isn't someone that you know, it's fine and dandy? One is too many for me.

I think OldBusaGuy is saying that capital punishment opens the door to the possibility of innocent people getting killed.
......and what I'm saying is that technology has advanced to the stage where there are few innocent people in jails these days.....

....I still stand by what I said...if the evidence is irrefutable, the death penalty is a good way to dispatch bad actors from our realm and into purgatory where they belong....

There has to be the ultimate penalty on the table in an attempt to quell the worst violent offenders, if they knew the end result was death, it might make them give pause to their actions.....

I'd personally like to see the death penalty be made public as more of a deterrent........and I'd love to see Canada adopt the death penalty again....

One thing about the Islamic countries I was in, you didn't see theft or murders very often......the bad guys knew what awaited them if they did these things.....
