YOU cannot make HER happy. That's a fantasy! Happiness comes from within, it's not posession one has that can be given to another. You cannot make her love you and the harder you try the farther you will drive her away. No one can make you feel better about this emotional detachment other than you.

you know what, i try my best to follow the bible, and to Jesus, marriage is sacred. I can't stop trying until it's actually over. plus, the creed of my next unit is "Nightstalkers don't Quit", what kind of prospect would i be if i cut and run when marriage gets difficult. i appreciate the support and advice either way from all of you, just pray that God gives me the guidance and strength i need to make her happy again.

I believe that Marriage is sacred too. But, that only extends as long as both people are committed to it. If one party decides they want out, then the other party bears no shame or guilt. But yes, until the day your (if it comes to that) divorce is finalized, you continue to be the stand-up guy, regardless of what she does, as you can then live with YOUR actions.
