So much to do, I could work all the time. Too much pressure. Wait for Saturdays to ride the Busa. biggrin.gif

Why wait till Saturday just ride every day!

Well after 15 years in nuclear power I am spent. The industry is driving itself in to the ground by eliminating jobs. Many important job functions were eliminated and now I am left standing without any support from the machine shop the weld shop the equipment test group planning is basically gone. I could go on and on.

The last few weeks have driven some things in to perspective for me. A fellow worker just took credit for all the hard work I have done in setting up a very big high profile job that is actually running pretty well. He was supposed to help and just sat in his cube doing nothing for the project. Some people would come and ask him about the project while in the planning stage and he would brush them off and tell them to talk to me.

I have had this happen too many times. I think I am at the point of leaving finally. It took a while to get here. I guess it is the pay that kept me there but there are other places that pay pretty well. rant.gif

Reasons why my job is really cool:
1. They give me really cool clothes to wear - CHICKS dig them!
2. I get to yell at people A LOT.
3. I get to see the product of my labor almost every day.
4. I will be eligible to retire the day after my 38th birthday.
5. My job has paid for me to get a B.S., and M.B.A, and is paying for studies toward a PhD.
6. I have been to 27 countries off of the North American continent -and my job paid me to go.
7. Learning Martial Arts is part of my job.
8. My job give me cool little bits of ribbon when I do good work - CHICKS dig those too.
9. My job sent me to a summer camp a couple of years ago, that put enough money in my pocket to buy a Busa outright.
10. My job has a really cool symbol.
11. At my job, we drink "bug-juice".
I have about 219 more, but you get the idea... beerchug.gif

(VaBusa @ Oct. 11 2006,13:57) Where's the "I love it sometimes, hate it others" option? LOL

I don't plan on leaving...great boss, good coworkers (well, most of 'em)...potential to learn all of the time (sometimes a downside)... smile.gif
And post 15,000 times. biggrin.gif

Independent Damage Appraiser/Adjuster. Use my Busa for work and get to ride her all day long from site to site.

No complaints.

you must work at Calvert Cliffs??

Love my job but, I'm out the door at 4 a.m. every morning and usually not home till 5 to 6 p.m. every night. I also have to work Mon. through Sat. those hours. In three years I've had 4 days off, working 6 days a week. Plus I've reached my salary cap and there is no higher to go in this Co. Boy I can't wait for the Bash, I need a day off. On the other hand though it affords my family a lifestyle We've grown accustomed too. Hopefully with my investments I won't have to work past 55.

I am the product of 2 Marines! It was fun at times traveling all over. Usually lived by the beach. My parents met when they were stationed in Hawaii. 2 months after they met, they married. I was born the following year!   woot.gif woot.gif

Since I have to work, I'm glad I work where I do. Good pay, usually some sort of profit sharing, free food and I can wear jeans every day.

There are several goldfish who work there, but I can distract them with pretty colors and flashy things so they don't school around my cube much.

I used to love my job, i work for a company that builds solid and liquid rockets and currently have a secret clearence. but about 7 years ago things changed for the worse when our company began selling the 14,000 acres we work on to test and build to developers. In fact
i was written up again for the umtenth time last night just before i came home.

I have been doing this kind of work for 25 years and have never been in trouble at work untill there was a whole turn over of management. These new supervisors have done nothing but try to build paper trails on myself and some other select employees since their arrival and i have seen 10 of my co-workers fired for any reason they could manufacture.

Those that know me realize what is going on out there is nothing more than a hostile work enviorment and im sure that eventually i will be fired at some point as well. I would have to say at this point i hate my job
