Flashing the 08 / ECU Editing software for GEN II Busas

1. Ensure that you are running internet explorer only, not crome or other incompatible stuff
2. run windowsupdate to make sure that you are really having latest versions of windows components (http:/windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
3. download and run .net v3.x
4. Click install on this page:
Hayabusa ECUeditor for K2-K7, K8- models

Often the points 1 & 2 are less emphasized...

ok Its time to breakout the "old" laptop with XP and give it a try. will keep ya updated on my progress. Thanks for the help everyone, I hope this works this time:laugh:

Well I guess I got the Down side Schwartz, I uninstalled everything and triad to reinstall and I cant get .net framework exe to run. I tried it again on vista and its just not working. Gotta wait till the wife gets home to dig out the other laptop with XP.

"I changed the limiter to 11.8k, no more 6th gear limiter either, and took out the soft fuel cuts(Hard Cut only)did this all in "Normal" flash mode, which means I now have FULL timing in all gears too."

Hey guys,
Please forgive my limited knowledge.....but what is the difference between soft fuel cuts and hard fuel cuts? Also, why set the rev limiter to 11.8K is that where it peaks on power in gears 1-6?

Soft-Cut will make one or two cyl's to go lean right before the limiter comes on......NOT good when using Turboz or N2O. Just a Little safer if or when you do hit the limiter.
The Reason I like raising the limiter is for the Track. Being I have my Busa geared so low it gives me a little more RPM. More TQ via more RPM=better 1/4 mile timez.

you don't have to set the rev limiter to 11.8k, peak power is going to be different from one setup to the next, so if your power starts to tail off before you hit the stock limiter, then there's no reason to raise your limiter, as the power is not there to pull above that the stock limiter.

I was wondering if the ECU can be flashed to help with the cold start-up? It takes my bike a few seconds before the idle will speed up a little when starting in cold weather. It can take two or three tries to get it started if it is cold also.

I able to flash. New limiters etc. But I can't seem to get engine data. Com is correct but it wont show in the pull down menu. Other then that it feels stronger !! Any help on the engine date com would be great.

I have been absent for almost a week now due to moving. That sucked since right before loosing internet access I got my programmer. Either way, I run vista on my laptop and it SUCKS!!!! You have to be very careful to set up your computer as an administrator as Greg has said. Just follow the instructions and no one should have any issues, just make sure your using an administrator account. Beyond that, I had an issue that a few others have had. Instead of carefully using the instructions I also looked at Toxsick Rocket's pictures which helped out a lot, problem as most have read later that he posted the wiring of the ecu wires backwards. Sorry, not saying you did something wrong or anything, just didn't see the post of how they were wrong until later after my install. My fault for not checking the instructions carefully. I did call Greg after two nights of scratching my head and he resolved the issue right away. Great customer service. I would definitely buy anything from Boostbysmith.com anytime.

Once the harness was wired right and vista was set up correctly this thing flashed perfectly. Now I just changed the redline to 11,800, set the timing to remove the retard in first gears, and removed the top speed limiter. My bike is stock besides slip-ons and I actually noticed a difference. I can say wheelies are easy now in the first three gears. I can't wait to change the fuel map.

I will be posting pictures of my install later today hopefully. It has been tough to get time while still moving all week from one place to the other. Thanks Greg and Petrik!

I got fed up trying to setup the Vista laptop that I got my old laptop with XP and am in the process of updating it and I am going to use the XP for this . Greg,ToxicRocket and even Petrik gave me suggestions and still we could not get it to work on Vista. As soon as I get all the updates done on the XP I will try it again. Thanks again guys, I will get this to work,
