Riding minding my own. Come to a stop light, in traffic, school bus next too me. Here comes Mr. Dumbass trying to cross the street. He has to come right next to my bike. I leave enough space, plenty of room but he has to walk right next to my bike, right in front of me. I'm talking millimeters when he has 5 feet of walking space from me and the vehichle in front.

I yell and say "ehey do you have to walk right up next to my bike" " There's plenty of room, keep your distance. "

He starts to get all apologetic in a cocky way. The stupid kids on the school bus see the camotion and start yelling " fight, kick his ass,, this and that. Light turns green and off I go. Thinking why are there so many sugarbritches.

Not a minute later here comes the sound of sirens blarring behind me. I go over thinking this cop needs to get by, but NO he's pulling me over. I give him my license and he asked to see proof of insurance, I said I don't have insurance and that I am not required by law to have insurance on a motorcycle. He argues breifly saying all motorists must have insurance no matter what. Whatever. I ask what I am being pulled over for. He said failing to give the right away to a pedestrian. The vein starts bulging from my forehead. I explain to him what happened and if anything how about righting that guy a ticket for jaywalking.

He's in his own little world and does not listen to a word that I am saying. Apparrently there is some law or something that states you have to be 30 feet at all times from a school bus. I said how do I do that if I am in the next lane. I'm suppose to give 30 feet even if the bus is to the side of me? He then HANDCUFFS me and said I indangered a pedestrian and a bus full of kids. And then goes on to rant about his kids and asks if I have kids (no). I'm thinking what in the world does that have to do with anything. This ******* thinks if you have kids that alone makes you a more responsible person or something.

Another cop comes up. He showed interest in my bike. We begin to talk. I tell him what happened. 20 min later he takes the handcuffs off and away we all went. That's it. No appologies or statements about anything just split and went our separate ways.

Can't figure it out. Did the idiot walking call the police, did the cop just happen to be around, did the school bus driver call someone? Weird to say the least.

Sometimes I wish I could just punch these people and not have to worry about my bike getting knocked over.

Wow. That just messed up man.

POPO's who assume you are the bad guy because you ride a sportbike...

Fortunately there was a good POPO that showed up... Hope your next ride is better...

Sounds like the second cop just bailed his buddy out of a nasty mess...I don't know of any reason for you to be pulled over. Someone must have thought you were one of those "mouthy confrontational threatening sport bikers" and got scared, called the cops...good grief... *shakes head* Just pathetic...

Hmm twice in one week someone argues with a cop about insurance and both ended unhappy....

Sorry for the hassle but I think if I get asked for insurance knowing I do not need it and I do not have any (I would rather have it myself) then I think it might pay off to just keep quiet, take the ticket and then argue it in court with a judge that knows the law...

cop had to have been pretty close (response times are not exactly in seconds)

if the guy does not touch your bike, I guess he is in the clear...

That is indeed messed up. I see dumda$$e$ all the time. I will be riding down this one street that is known to be sort of shady. These people will just walk right out in front of you. I always attempt to sway to one side when people walk out. One day there was a whole group of people walking out in the middle of the road ofcourse this is not a corner so they are all jay walking. This group of people would not move and there was no where to go. I am NOT stopping for the fear of being robbed or they try to steal my bike. I hit the throttle and they seen how quick the bike was excellerating and the rumble of the engine, they ran out of the way. I hate to have to do that, but you can tell these guys were up to no good. Since that time, I have heard that there was some car jackings in that area where I was. I think the police caught some of those losers that were doing car jackings.

Going to court is the way its suppose to work! I got arrested during Biketoberfest for not signing a ticket! Rookie cop agreed he could have mistaken me for another and sent me on my way. B4 I could get gone his supervisor shows up! Writes me a ticket! "Say What" Turn around  your under arrest

All Friday night till mid day on Saturday B4 I could bail out! (computers down) Bike towed,(not Busa) Helmet scratched up, bike scratched and dented from towing. $87.95 for towing and a day of impound! Go to civil court, day lost from work! charges dismissed! Go to traffic court officer didn't show! charges dismissed. 2 days lost wages, tow bill with complimentary damages, other property damaged and Just a hell of a night in county + Family looking in all the ditches for my mangled body until 4 am when I got my first phone call.

Guess there is a lot to be said about staying cool, respecting the guys job and what he is trying to do... I have been "talked" to more than once in some 40 years of riding and on 2 occasions gotten a ticket.

Without exception in my case, these guys were just doing their job because I did some dumba$$ thing to get their attention...

I guess it is possible to get pulled over and cited for no reason at all and I have just been lucky

I've been pulled twice for nothing...not on the bike, but honestly, when you are pulled and then the cop grills you for using cruise control (no kidding),
wtf.gif
do you say? How should you react? Funny part is that on both occasions, I did keep my cool despite how I really wanted to act and they had no choice but to let me go...scare tactics, that's all they were in my mind...just throwing weight around to show me who's boss as if I couldn't possibly know right from wrong before that moment

Not bashing all cops, I've got friends that are cops, but the wanna-be bad ass routine get real old...

Hey you are so spot on! The good people that are cops should be honored! they do it cause of who they are! But this jacka$$ trying to act the part? has changed my attitude for the worst for the most part.
