Havent been to the gym since I started back to school this semester. 50hrs week and 12 credits a semester kill my free time. I was benching 225 4-6 reps weighing 185 @ 6'. Never tried to max out. I really want to get back into it.

225 bench
335 squat
415 Deadlift

whimpy for a 225lb guy. but hey 3 weeks ago i was 245. and before that 250 and in July 08 285 :)

I was just got by a thread from the ice age:laugh:

I hit 385 b4 hit with tendenitis in both elbows. 1 year of recovery and now taking it extra slow.

I am 6'3 238lbs and my max bench is 435 lbs...I have repped 315 16 times recently and am all natural! I played football at north carolina state univ from 2003 to 2006 and played outside linebacker. Just to back it up i have a youtube clip from a while ago of what we were doing then playing around...315lbs in that clip 10 times and could have went more!

LOL...You are perfectly fine! I played football all of my life and the average person does not work out like nearly as much as I do! Stay in the gym and you will see the benefits!

I work 5 days a week never max out my shoulder is really messed up right not really sure whats wrong with it but I normally so a couple sets at 225...but i warm up with 100lbs (200lbs) dumbells for a couple sets before...my legs/shoulders are the strongest I leg press around 620lbs but could probably do like 700-750lbs I squat 270 (no partner so i have to be careful with these) I shoulder shrug over 365 I can also do seated over press with about 300lbs....that is all at 10 reps for a couple sets....I can almost jump out of a pool with no hands about 2" off from that huge goal for me consider I am 6ft 230....also I dont have a workout partner so can't push to hard.....and I always finsh my day with HIIT cardio. My problem is I have a poor diet and drink alot of beer.

im 5'7, 138lbs and falling. I worked out crazy for the last two years and went from 130 to 145 in that time, then lost my motivation about two months ago and now im loosing weight again. As much as i want to get back in there and quit being the skinny guy it just wasn't paying off

Im 5'9 260,(with a 33 inch waist) Best bench is 575 raw and 615 with a suit. I dont do flat bench any longer as there is no point. I only do inclines, The heaviest i go on inclines is 500 for 6 (with my 110lb sister spotting me). I do alot of hand gripper exercises. I can do the 3.5 captain of crush grippers on a regular basis. And i got into competitive armwrestling.(just won my first tournament in august) Did a firemans carry with 630lbs carried it 40 yards. Heaviest sqaut with a suit is 810lbs. Dont go over 500 for 20 reps nowadays. I try to stay in shape. when i grow up I want to be strong.............tired of being small!!!!!:rofl:

I typicaly do NOT do max out, but two years ago I did 365 twice for my 5th set of bench. I pyramid up in wieght and down in reps. At 5'-8" and 200-209 pounds with 30-31 inch waist.
Dealing with on off elbow and shoulder issues, think workout now is reppin out 285 on my 5th set of flat bench.
But I think I still got it:laugh:

well for yous gym rats head over to intensemuscle.com if you want some no bull****, no gimmick, good knowledge. Its the home of DC training and is ran by Ken "Skip" Hill. he is one awesome nutritionist.

I rarely try to go max anymore but a few years back I could bench 315 and squat 405. Now days I'm all show and No-Go! To quote Kevin Spacey: " I just want to look good naked"! hehe

I'm 6'3" around 240pds. i like to pyramid my bench press. The best for me was a pryamid chart that took me to 405pds on a single rep. It wasn't extremely difficult, but I did feel my shoulders and elbows ache for a bit after. I now keep my highest rep at about 370. I think the old school pyramid stuff definetley helps with power, but not so much for how you look. The one i use looks something like this and the weight varies depending on your max bench (or squat etc..) in essence you never really do your maximum weight. the chart is basically percentages of what your max lift would be if that makes sense. I think the chart i used is for about a 425pd max.

8 reps
6 reps
4 reps
3 reps
2 reps
1 reps
4 reps

Old thread but I was left out soooo ..........

I can get about 245 off the bench all day long ....unfortunately thats counting hauling 245 lbs carcass off the bench

Someone remind me never to get an argument with bigrod :laugh::laugh:

damn, big rod's friggin big, lol. i'm not much of a gym rat, i can leg press 450 or so, bench is at 150, and i shrug 270. i need to trim up more than bulk up. 6'2", 260
