i have never met any conservative republican radical activists ?
Historically speaking conservatives are ones who speak by action and not public protest.
They are not known by name nor face cuz they are usually private in manner unlike loud mouth libs who try to shout you into believing their side .

Start a discussion with any liberal about either of the three topics below and see how quick your calm talk turns into them calling you stupid and ignorant and racist and omg i can't believe the words your saying .

Gun control
abortion
death penalty

can't have simple discussion on these with them as you are instantly insulted and belittled !

I own lots of guns .
I think 'no doubt about it' convicted criminals of heinous crimes should be summarily and immediately executed the very minute after the judges gavel hits the desk !
As far as abortion drs go, see previous statement !

However...considering i tick off people on both sides of the fence.. I'm pro guns, pro abortion (early terms), and pro death penalty right after the trial!!! I wish people would see that if it was so easy to run the country and one person had all the answers we would already be living in a perfect society!! Have your opinions, but know you might be wrong!! I keep an open mind and am willing to change ideas if i feel someone made a valid argument.

Everyone's beliefs are under attack at this time...it seems people are so more vocal at this time for some reason. Maybe it is just the internet compounding it. Trust me ...if you have a liberal viewpoint you have people telling you how ignorant you are...just like conservatives have people telling them how ignorant they are... There are very vocal people on both sides that seem to inflate a conversation into a personal attack.

I just wish people would leave their personal opinions out of things when it doesn't affect them personally. Some things i can see... late term abortions i don't agree with even though there are only a few doctors that perform them....Gay marraige (you want govenrment out of your lifes, but you want to control someone elses??)...other things too.

Putting your head in the sand will not protect you, the current administration and congress/senate will interfere with your rights in many ways. Some people in this thread want to say that this discussion is full of hate and/or getting out of hand but I disagree. People need to be informed on what is going on in washington so I will do the best I can to inform and dipute the lies from the left. We are losing our republic people if washington keeps going unchecked. Look at the economy and your check book my friends. Look at how the world is mocking us to include north korea and iran, talk about disrespect! I thought the liberals were going to get us respected in the world theater? We agree get informed. Problem is we watch the news that best suites how we feel. If you are right you listen to Beck, rush and Fox. If you are left MSNBC etc. So where is the dialogue? We are being feed lies or half truths. The end result will not be a good one.
Secondly if you think the discussion has gotten out of hand. See the one above in red, "cornholers"
I try to be optimistic but I see some very angry and the flames are being stroked. The question needs to be is our love for each other as Americans first stronger then our hate. If not we are headed to a another civil war. Sounds crazy I know but the middle ground is less and less.
Lastly our real fear should be our education system. Our system is falling apart. While we wave the flag and shout, "we are number one!" we are failing to keep our kids in school. We are being run over by other Countries and so our future goes. That is something we should all work together on. I would say it starts at home but I don't have the answers.

You're kidding, right? Aren't you aware heterosexuals indulge in these acts as well, not just gay men? Your son being gay is really irrelevant. Relax. You do make valid points concerning politics. If people don't agree with you or you don't share their point of view, they like to attack your belief as being the root cause of all things wrong and they will attack you verbally on a personal level too. All one has to do is start from the beginning of this thread and watch it degrade into a personal attack, because someone believes differently than another.

I usually avoid two areas of discussions on this site...politics and religion. Most people, not all, but unfortunately most, have a zero tolerance of beliefs other than their own. It is sad but that seems to be the way it is here.

I applaud your courage to be a minnow in a sea of sharks and voice a minority viewpoint. The sharks will always go into a feeding frenzy when that behaviour is encouraged.
