Gen 2 Trunk Mod

Re: Gen II Trunk Mod

Thanks I did not go too deep, I was afraid of wheel rub. Still have plenty of room.

Re: Gen II Trunk Mod

Sweet! How much is noticeable on the underside, by looking from the side or back of the bike? This is something that I need to do.

You cannot see it at all unless you lay down on the ground. I kept shortening the space until I was comfortable with the look. I have scene some posts where others went a little deeper. Will post the pics in the am for you.

Re: Gen II Trunk Mod

I took the rear bodywork off but I left the black undercarriage on. Use a sharp utility knife. Make sure its a sturdy knife and just cut slowly around the edges. After you get the piece out trim along the edges. I used a black garbage can found in any office store. Standard garbage can you see in offices. I started to cut the bottom off around 7 in and the installed it on the bike and started trimming from there till I was happy with the fit. I ended up under 5 in because I weight 260 an am 6 ft tall so I was afraid of rear wheel rub. Then I used 4 bolts and nuts with blue thread lock and 4 small self tapping screws.

Look under your Busa and it says, MADE IN USA, in big letters. You gotta show that to a Harley guy:rofl:

Re: Gen II Trunk Mod

anyone have issues with water pooling? maybe after some rain or a wash?

Yep, I got caught in the rain and it'll get some water in it. Not from underneath though, it's the water blowing in around the seat/hump.
