Gen 3 Latest report ..

Moto magazine in Greece in the June issue tested the Gen 3 against Gen 2 and Gen 1. On the dyno Gen 1 had 153 RWHP, Gen 2 had 172 RWHP and Gen 3 177 RWHP. Changing the air fiter with the new DNA filter there was a 3 RWHP gain. And all these numbers will get higher with ram air on the road.
On the track the Gen 1 was the best, on the street the Gen 3 was on top. Going for top speed the Gen 3 is very fast up to 270 kph then the ECU starts limiting throttle up to 295 Kph (top speed). Nothing a future ECU flash can't fix.

Kind of surprising as the Gen 2 is rated at a higher BHP then the Gen 3 and that's from Suzuki.

I honestly can't see Suzuki fudging around with their BHP ratings as that's what sells these days.

Each and every dyno is different but those numbers seem off.

In every test in the day, the gen 2 was clearly a huge improvement over the gen 1 in every aspect (except the tail design IMO).

The gen 3 SHOULD be an improvement over the gen 2 (except that darn huge arse end..I don't get it, the tails get uglier as they progress).

From what I experienced in 20kms of a test ride, it is an upgrade but not worthy of me to part with the cash. I found it to be butter smooth especially with the quick shifter which surprised me as an oem product.

I found it to be a tad soulless regardless of the technology goodies. I’ll stick with the K8’s everyday of the week.

All the Gen 1 dyno sheets I’ve seen were between 156 and 159 for pure stock runs. Mine did two runs @ 159 and one @ 160.
Makes sense, I had to go check honestly and the spec sheet I saw said '99-'07 bikes were 163rwhp....there's probably a lot of spec sheets which will all have different values...

Gen 1 bikes are no slouch either...the difference between a gen 1 and gen 2 is the rider...
