Gen 3 Latest report ..

Those numbers add up to 45 more ponies. Hawdabeleeve an exhaust change alone would actually add 20. If all these mods can be done on a new Busa, why not start with a much less expensive (base) model brand with similar results?
Must be a little magic thrown in there to achieve this much power with basically bolt ons...

I think it will take a bit more work to get this bike to 200rwhp seeing as it is well below 200hp at the crank.

Not many gen 2s dyno at 200rwhp without a lot of work, I'd imagine this bike will be no different.

In the end a person will have a modified gen 3 Hayabusa below the hp rating of a stock GSXR1k for more money invested.

It all depends on the dyno and mods. My Gen-2 made 194whp on pump and 199whp on MR12 with basic mods. Most people arguing don’t even race these things or rarely top them out anyway.

Either way, you’re still caught up on “rated” numbers. Not a single liter bike out right now is making “rated” power on any dyno so get past it.

Then guys like JZA only want to come and point out everything negative they see or find. Sad, just sad. Get out and ride and enjoy life on whatever bike makes you happy even if the Gen-3 isn’t it… :beerchug:

You are aware this is a forum devoted to discussing the Hayabusa right?

Are you really rubbing it in?
Wasn't rubbing it in but everyone talking about what a rip off when if you really wanted one least in US it could've been had for a heck of a price east coast or west coast around 16 or 17k which is the going rate on new bikes and if you think about the busa hasn't changed in 13 years and inflation has so in reality 20k is not far fetched look at prices for anything on wheels right now its mind blowing.

Must have some really great mods to make that kind of RWHP...mine has the basic mods and makes 186 which is the common number I often hear..

"rated" numbers are all we really have, even if our bikes are dyno'd and we stand there and watch the numbers on the computer screen, they are still rated numbers as another dyno a block away will make a different number.

Motorcycle companies which make liter bikes are dedicated to them as they are the bike companies use to stake their reputations on.

I like my Hayabusa but have enough common sense to know what it is and what it isn't and where it fits into the world of motorcycling. When it comes to flogging one, I live vicariously through others for that.

Maybe dive in and understand what the numbers really mean then. If one is rated at 200hp but only makes mid-160’s-whp on a dyno but one is rated at 186hp and makes 170’s-whp what does that tell you?

I'm not brand new to motorcycling and have a pretty good idea what these numbers mean..

In most cases they are set by the manufacturer to depict what the motorcycle is putting out-are they understating the hp/tq ratings for insurance reasons or to throw off the competition?

Hard to say...as the Hayabusa has been around for a long time in it's two previous forms, the numbers on them are pretty easy to obtain and even those numbers are all over the place.

When a bike goes on a dyno, there are a whole whack of variables which can make each dyno put out a different number and I don't think I have to insult anyone's intelligence as to what those variables are.

Let brock and Chris play with it then get it to brentuning then let's see what she does!!!
I did mention that early. Let the super tuners clear out all of the prohibitions, figure out the hack, so we have everything organized. Let's clear out the Euro 5 protocols, so we can adjust things at will.

Then, we get busy changing cams, gearing, adding turbos, and doing all that crazy sh!t we're good at.

Man, I am liking the way she is bolted together. The Gen 2 is so full of clever joints that eventually crack. Looks like this GEN 3 is well done.
Case in point on that subject is when I took off the side panel fairing to change oil yesterday I noticed one of the plastic push down pins on the top was broken off and stuck in the grommet....

I hear the gen 3 has better access to change oil...

That looks like the Gen 1 is about the same as the Gen 2 until 8,200 rpm.
If anyone could interpret what they said it would be great. Also, notice the Gen-1 and Gen-2 both had aftermarket exhaust in that test with a stock Gen-3.

Something else I noticed in the Japan spec bikes...
