Gen 3 Latest report ..

True the competition does not have anything really comparable.
Not so sure 1k bikes will stomp it, torque is a bonus and in the 1/4 mile it still is up there with the best. Sure, it is too heavy for the track, however there is a rider here on the forum who seems to do pretty well, stomping a lot of 1k bikes on the track.

The new gen3 has no issues with sales, so either it is the legend living on, or there are just a lot of riders who still prefer superbike performance with a lot more comfort thrown in.

Lets face it, 21 years later, the same bike with small updates only, still remains pretty popular.

Mine is bone stock, but wherever I park it, it always receives some attention.
Out on the road, the liter bikes are king....the Hayabusa might be with them until the first few corners and then they disappear. All the mods we can do to catch them can be done to their bikes..

Our very own @Ac41 does very well on the track but his bike is far from stock and he can ride...

I do like the fact it lives on even if it isn't perfect, it is still a Hayabusa...a bike which as out-lasted all of it's competition...

I know I enjoy mine, it is the best of both worlds, it handles decently, has enough power to entertain me and is kind of sort of comfortable...I know there are many times when I hate to have my ride end but the arthritis in my hands dictates the duration of my rides-not the bike.

...and for the first time this season, there are people who are actually interested in what it is...last season they could care less.

Out on the road, provided it is from a standing start, the Busa will stay ahead of all 1k bikes up to 140 mph.

It does not have to be wound up, you can twist the throttle is 6th gear at 40mph and the power is there, which makes the ride a lot more enjoyable.

The former owner of my bike told me he set it up to chase down liter bikes in the corners and pass them on the straights, something I've never tried but I can see how it could do it.

The new liter bikes are just so lightweight these days with the same or more hp as a Hayabusa.

Although the gen 3 is already out-classed for performance, it has more class as a platform in my opinion...

While literbikes are faster, they are working harder to keep up with the Busa. On the other hand in the turns, they are less demanding. The Busa will corner well if the turns aren't too tight, Just as you have to plan where you want the power on a literbike, you have to plan turns on the Busa. Do that and you can carve a road. With a literbike, you can enter a turn one way and completely change your line halfway through. Anyway, we've all been through those comparisons over and over. The bottom line is whatever a Busa is, it is fun to ride.

And the kawi is still alive for 2022... they couldn't let suzuki have all the fun lol

Got ahold of Suzuki today, was told 3 white bikes are headed to Oklahoma, 2 this month yet, and 1 in September, I hope mines one of those coming in now rather then 3 months from now. Dealership is open tomorrow and will find out for sure.

So Kawasaki retains the title for another year....I suppose the H2 is still around for 2022 as well...
It depends what happens when they are tested back-2-back. I have a feeling the new Busa is going to win the test overall like always. May not have the peak power numbers but most don't care about that anyway.

Unless Kawasaki announces something soon, order banks are closed for 2021 and many think you can't get an H2 anymore unless you want an SX or Z.

Same here except I was told one Silver for July and one for August. I'm supposed on be first inline for Silver so we'll see...

I still think the gen 3 doesn't know what it is supposed to be or where it fits into the market.

It basically has no competition as the ZX14R has been discontinued and the H2 has Euro 5 woes....

Liter bikes will stomp it and dedicated sport tourers are more comfortable...

I guess it is enough that it even exists...
It knows exactly what it's supposed to be, which is the best all around platform to do whatever you want with it.

12, 14, and 14R have always been a PITA to work on. The H2 is a cool bike but for $30k and the issues when you really start pushing the platform has many owners switching back to previous bikes. They just aren't reliable over 300-340whp.

As far as liter bike performance, most don't care because we aren't jockey sized riders. Most Busa owners are taller and larger and far more comfortable on a Busa than ANY liter bike.

Before I put a deposit down, I went shopping and none of them have the comfort of a Busa. I was in love with the new CBR 1000RR-R-SP but the peg height is a nightmare for the street. The V4R is beautiful but it Cooks your nuts the entire ride. RSV4 is a very small bike. S/M1000RR would be the only other option honestly.

If you spend a majority of your time at trackdays, a liter bike is what you're probably looking for. If you daily, tour, drag, top speed, cruise, etc etc..then for me the Busa is the only option.

Well, the 14R will stomp a gen 2 and the gen 3 is only slightly faster...I hate to even think it but Kawasaki will still have the kingdom...

Hard to beat a 1441 with even a slightly breathed on 1340...if we talk mods the Kawasaki really wakes up when modded as well.

I only mention liter bikes as for some reason it gets into some sort of competition with them..only because the liter bikes are out-gunning it these days.

I like the platform but we all know what it isn't.

They don't stomp them. Come to a 1-mile event and have a go... ;)

They must be doing something different, I can only report on anything and everything I read on them being more powerful and around the same weight as a Hayabusa.

Some of our members here have them....and a few have turned to them when they were awaiting a gen 3.
