Gen 3 Trunk mods..... Who has started brainstorming on this already????

A member here also sent the thread to Tiger Racing years ago...who used the idea to develop their version.
They posted here, asking for several members to post up try their version, that they would select a few and give them free ones, which they did.
I asked to try one...with no response.
Thanks TigerRacing...enjoy the profits off those parts, lol

I don't believe so.

It's not the end of the world to carry a plastic bag to put food in and inside my jacket, but I'm getting to the point I'd rather not if I could put in the trunk.............or anything more than my short gloves.

If cut cut the back edge of the tray off, it gives you a lot more floor space back into the tail light area. It doesn't give you extra depth but you could definitely get gloves or something back there. I mounted my whole MaxxECU back there to give me room for my C02 setup for my air shifter in the normal part of the "trunk"

I wonder how much space could be gained with an aftermarket undertail, as I think I've seen those for Gen3's somewhere?
And remove and replace the stock plastic undertail with something else.

If anyone wants to bring a Gen3 to Va for a trunk mod and wheelie video...I'm taking applications...
lmao

I will modify the tray exactly for that, to make room for a bunch of electronics and other stuff.

This will be a winter project in the following few months.

I originally used a plastic file box on the Gen2 trunk mod, and then later the plastic trash can bottom.
Window shop these in local stores, measure what will fit, cut the 4 sidewalls to fit the inside of the subframe and outer tail, angle the bottom down with the body lines.
The stock inner/undertail may still be used like a frame around the trunk box, or gone completely if you can get an aftermarket undertail.

This is what I want to do.

The picture says it perfectly.

I haven't seen an aftermarket under tail that I can remember. There isn't a whole bunch of room under the stock tray when I had everything apart. If you're stretched it gives you more options, after 5" back your wheel is behind the "wheel well" anyway so that options up options. Im waiting for catalyst to release their +4 or +6 tail then ill just go to an aluminum skeleton style subframe with a carbon tray for my ECU (which has been my plan all along so I honestly haven't paid too much attention to modding the stock one)

Thanks for bumping this, as much as I've been riding I'd really like extra storage. If I get time this weekend, I will pull some dimensions on the front of the undertail to see how much area I would be able to gain.

I know I rub slightly on the back part of my undertail due to the arm/tire. For stock arm/tire and lowered, can this location be dropped down as well without rubbing concerns?
