Gen 3 Trunk mods..... Who has started brainstorming on this already????

sounds like perfect testing conditions for how it seals

Damn, you're not wrong... I passed up perfect opportunity to test dryness. I'll make that right next time around, really does need to be road tested for water intrusion.

On that topic, I have thought about it. When I do install mine for the final time, I plan to put a bead of silicone around perimeter of the 5mm lip I left on the undertail itself.

I think this is where the Maxx is going to make things more difficult. Gregs middle man box has connections coming out of the top, right side and bottom. WE have to trim the stock ECU mounting pad to get it to fit with the stock undertray. Its part of the reason I wanted to cut the crossbar out the rear cowl mounts too as that freed up a bunch of wiggle room as is. Again, if its too much I can happily take what you make and modify it for my Frankenstein of a bike. Just having the extra space to work with is more than worth it to begin with.
Could you modify the connectors to make it fit better? Not sure of the connector type but there are plenty of sources online for different degree connectors that could be mated with ribbon cables…. CAN lines should be shielded and twisted but everything else should be fine to run through the correct size ribbon cable. If you can’t find the appropriate style connector you could always modify the output to a style that suits your needs.

I am still amazed how much room there is now..... until I slide lunch into it without crushing anything. This is just using the center section, front and rear of extended trunk is all just lagniappe.

Believe I finalized everything at lunch, just need to physically test and will be good to go.

I need some input for anyone that's extended with Maxx. Do you need/want the area behind the hump lock to be larger capacity? Currently it's around 1"-2.5"
more depth than stock behind the lock. I only ask because if that was eliminated there'd be no issues of potential tire rub. See attached pics the divide. I don't think it'll be an issue if I can clear my 240 that's has ~1/2" less clearance than a 190/50, but we all have different setups.

That being said, definitely will still offer current larger one because that's what I want (and already cut my undertail), lol. But if it was shorter would be cheaper, I also believe it'll fit stock arms (have someone kind enough locally to test fit soon).

More room would be nice imo

Just installed final version on mine and finally happy.

Anyone interested in actual storage on your bike, $120 shipped US, shoot me a PM. If outside US, we can figure it out.

Printed in PLA+ Pro in 2 sections and I weld together. Installs from underneath snuggly, 2 holes behind ECM and 2 ones on the side. I'll provide proper length stainless hardware.

I will list on Etsy if prefer that way.

This will let maxx guys put the ignitorer farther back without having to cut the stock undertail to do it. I think they'll all benefit from it and it'll actually clear up a bit of space int he front side.

That is a questions that is so significantly out of my abilities I'm not going to pretend to be able to answer it. I have spoken to greg about changing wiring routing in the past and the maxx connectors are either limited/propreitary so I've already committed to changing the bike around the maxx vs changing the maxx to fit the bike

I definitely need something that can hold a pair of full length gloves and zip-out jacket insulation for my spring/summer jacket. I will be lowered and a wider tire, but will swap in a stiffer rear spring so hoping no rubbing holes in the trash can initially.

It appears like the trash can trunk is feasible option although may not get quite the depth as the Gen2... Just not sure how much clearance is under the tail and the tire.

I wish I had a large 3D printer now, although that would take a good bit of time to come up with something, 12+hr prints for a test fit, rinse and repeat.
Corbin has a rear Trunk/Glove box that can be installed.

We will be talking as this build progresses. I need room for Greg's electronics nothing else.

It's looking like the max ECU and the igniter will fit nicely in this cubby underwear the stock ECU mounts and us guys that are on a max will have a full trunk with space for everything to be out of the way. I have to get it in the bike first to see what the wiring harness will allow for but I'm hopeful that everything will fit
