Gen3 quick shifter doesnt work like its supposed

Their electronic throttle has over 1,100 lines of code. This is a cool open source project that’s actively being developed.

It’s interesting to look through and read the comments even if you don’t understand the code.

The more I think about how the lag felt to me it seems like how they control the throttle would be the most likely culprit.
i had the same issues on the 2019 BMW s1000r it mostly came down to my interpretation of foot input to change gears while riding, Suzuki had an impressive gearbox on the gen 2 and clutchless upshifting was slick anyway you would think adding an extra feature like the auto blipper would be simple but its not it take a lot of patients and learning to master it.
My experience on the downshift the throttle has to be completely off to the stop position otherwise the ecu wont auto blip the throttle. on the acceleration its harder, the auto shifter didn't like being preloaded like i used to do on a normal clutdhless shift, I found after a while it actually liked a more lighter quicker input i found the sweet spot after a while with just the right amount of throttle and trial to figure it out
the bmw has to have the clutch micro switch triggered after starting and putting in first gear it activates the auto blipper/TC system, i allways pull lever to the bars first time in first just to make sure. i dont think this needs to be done on suzuki

Anyone have a update on this irritating problem with qs delay in 1-2 shifts at higher rpm?
No more issues :)

Good grief !!! I'm so glad I got a gen 2 instead of a 3 sorry to hear this is happening to you guys .this remindes me of all the recalls on the BMW 1000r after they rushed it. I was so happy I passed and got a rc8 instead. Hopefully suzuki will get thier crapp together and not take 6 recalls to do it

Mine has been mostly flawless. I have had a delay in up shifting once or twice. Nothing enough to complain about or even mention to friends.

If you want you could reverse engineer the entire system like what Boosted by Smith is doing. Learn about the sensor and what signals it’s sending. The ecu reads this sensor as an input.

Then you’d have to figure the output- what signals the ecu is sending and where. These work by cutting ignition or fuel but I don’t care enough to research which Suzuki has used. It can all be reverse engineered. That’s how Woolich made their own QS.

It seems like people are making this more than what it really is. Same with the front brakes. My front brakes were fine but with the design I could easily see some bikes having air in the brake lines from the factory.

I’m extremely happy with my Gen 3.

Even one of my best friends who is a self proclaimed “ergo snob” really enjoyed riding it. He loves his Triumph bikes and stuff more ergonomic oriented.
U may just wants to look perfect princess n all but it's not fun when. U have a quick shifter bogging the he ll out of the gears.
Thanks anyways

I’m on the verge of throwing the oem quick poop*ter in the bin and getting an aftermarket version.

Some gears are flawless whilst others either have a delay or don’t reset the lever and act like it’s in limbo.

Reminds me of the 2017 onwards QS that was recalled 3 times for being a pos.

......and this is hard to fathom considering Suzuki has been using a factory QS on other bikes with no issues....

Sad that this is an issue with many brand new gen 3s....the Suzuki brand will suffer as this is supposed to be the flagship....

If this were a car and the brakes would sometimes fail or the transmission didn't shift right or if it didn't start, people would be freaking out and legal action would be taken....why is is so different for a bike, people seem to shrug their shoulders and move on....

The Hayabusa hasn’t been the flagship for many years, the GSXR took that reign a long time ago.

Over here, the QS was recalled 3 times and the ecu once trying to solve similar issues everyone is having on this bike.

If you look at the Suzuki website, they still call the Hayabusa their flagship bike....so in their eyes it still is I suppose even if we the public don't necessarily agree...

Regardless of that, Suzuki brought out a bike and released it with known issues that could result in injuries or worse but are really doing the minimum to correct the issues....

BMW issued a no ride order to owners with the K1600s...(just ask @fallenarch ) and here we are with a bike where the bikes could fail or a no start problem (could suck if it stalled in traffic) and no such order has been issued....

I know I personally would be beyond pissed off it I was affected by these issues with a brand new bike...

Maybe the Gen 3 took the reigns again but prior to the release, it was the GSXR or nothing mentality.

Definitely disappointing knowing the issues people are having and the lack of corrective action from a top tier motorcycle manufacturer.

Suzuki has definitely lost their way.

I think it was more of a marketing scheme by Suzuki....people get excited when they see the words "flagship" and Hayabusa together....I guess it's a throw back to when the Hayabusa WAS the actual flagship bike. I personally like the looks of the Gen 3 though.

I agree, Suzuki has definitely lost their direction....
