GoPro HD Resource Thread-Discussion-Settings-Mounts-Cards-Results

Guys need a little help.

Finally mounted it on the bike and been playing with it, finally got a couple of youtube videos and such but 2 problems have come up.

1- got a "SoS' code.

2- Gopro froze up on me a couple of times, would not do anything, I had to pull the battery to get it to turn off and restart it.

The SoS code has happened twice in 2 days and it has froxe up probally 5 times.

Any suggestions.

Gopro motorsports HD with a 32gb sdhc card from kingston.

I would try a different mem stick first...

was thinking that gopro said they only "supported" up to 16gb or something...

However, in either case, its easy to check and the gopros are always a bit finiky with the memory sticks...

I am using the sd card that go pro recommends. Its the same one they have for sale on their site.

I found out that "SOS" code means corrupted file and it can be fixed, found this out on the go pro website.

Still don't know why it freezes up sometimes,

Turn it down to a little lower resolution and see how it does. Sometimes that can cause it to lock up.

:cheerleader: LCD is in and its great! Works as advertised and makes the entire operation easier. It does add some bulk to the camera so I'm not sure I will wear it when its on my helmet but otherwise its just amazing. Can't wait to try it out this weekend:thumbsup:

I may be one of the few but I am not to happy with mine so far, have tried a couple of new memory cards and this thing is not being to userfriendly.

It will turn it self off when it wants to, and freezes up and locks it self up all the time, to fix it I have to pull the battery out and put it back in, sometimes then it works fine for awhile but goes back to freezing up.

I have a claim in with go pro, see what happens from here.:banghead:

Taylor are you sure you're just not getting confused with some of the new settings?
I got my new replacement a week or so ago. I couldn't get it to work ?
I'd turn it on and then it would start recording by itself? I couldn't stop it, then it would freeze and I'd get pissed.
Turns out the new cams as well as new software has feature that allows it to start recording the instant you turn it on and you have to disable this feature for it to work regularly.

Could this be your problem?

I don't think so, when I check the card most times there is nothing there to show up.

When it freezes you can't do anything at all, no buttons will do anything.

Really frustrating, I may have gotten a bad apple, I will wait to see what gopro says, I don't want to look at it right now.

I was really excited yesterday, rode up north to some great roads and started to film, guess what when I stopped to check it out it stopped recording then froze up, did it twice. Finally pulled the battery and never turned it back on.

I am far from tech savvy but I am pretty sure somethings wrong.

I think you've got a bad unit contact gopro support I have found them very responsive. Have u done all the firmware updates?

FWIW, I've always heard great things about GoPro's tech support, and customer service. Hopefully they get you fixed up.
Very frustrating to get a neat new toy, and it doesn't work.:banghead:

It looks like it may be sticking out to far for that height. Have you ridden with it? Any hard left hand curves? Might want to attach a knee slider to it.

Since I'm not the biggest knee dragger on the block (LOL), I should be OK - I've got it calculated to just slightly less than my (lean) capabilities.

If I smash the hell out of it at Deals Gap - It'll be worth it . . . HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gopro just emailed me, shipping a brand new one to me, seems there was problems with my old one.

Good customer support.

One question guys! Does anyone know or have tried to mount a GoPro HD inside the air vent that is between the head light and turn signal?

Why do that and restrict airflow ?
The view will be no diff than if you mounted it on the outside of the nose.

I have a turbo on my bike so those air vents are not being used and I am not really that fond of having a bulky camera attached to the front of my bike.

Ok I see. Have you tried to set it in there? Will it even fit ?
I can't imagine how you would secure it and still be able to remove it, not to mention operate it ?
Button on top and face that would be difficult to get to.

I am asking because I do not have one yet and would hate to buy on and find out that it won't fit. I don't mind if its tight just as long as I can remove it from the clamp.
