Harley Junk

I don't know about the Softails? My Basic Fatboy in 2014 was just shy of 20k on the tag and after the goodies pushing 25k. That's 4 years ago. The Dynas sold well because of the Sons of Anarchy movies, most Dynas have the funky bars and fairing. Similar to the Italian bikes, the kids buy the smaller and more inexpensive bikes. I don't think higher end items should market to kids, keep your share by being better (Nordstrom). Maybe I am wrong? I like exclusivity, I prefer things that are quality9

You don’t know about the Softails??? Your Fatboy IS a Softail? I would love to see a pic of this Fatboy that you put $5k worth of “goodies” on:rolleyes:

FYI the Dynas have long been popular amongst the H-D crowd long before SOA or even the FX network was thought of. Do you think the creators of Sons sat around and designed Club Style Dynas!?!? Or maybe do you think they just watched actual Clubs around SoCal and seen what they were on..... The FXR line came out in 1983 so your saying that people didn’t put fairings on them and such till mid 2000’s ???

Don’t know where you googled your information from but your far from the truth my friend :beerchug: Harley Davidsons biggest problem right now is they aren’t able to reach the youth!!! That’s why their sales are in the toilet and they are trying to reinvent themselves by building more aggressive style bikes. Less chrome and more black murdered out style bikes which appeal to whom??? Old guys!?!? No!! Younger riders duh...... Old guys like shiny and chrome. Younger people like stripped down fast and blacked out. So do you see a 60 year old grey beard sitting on a bike like that??? No.... didn’t think so.

I grew up street racing Los Angeles 8-9 and 10 second bikes and cars almost 40 years ago , side bets are popular... I had my bike up in Northridge once where all the bike guys would hang out. They had to pass a cup around to get up $300.00 to race. Was a bad night for me, after going to a 2nd location the street was dusty and bike blew the tire off and I lost. Tail between my legs after busting their ass to even race me. :banghead:

Yes sir! 8.58 159 through the mufflers, I built the engine, set up the chassis and drove! My class legal C/A Suzuki ran 9.32 141 no bottle and it was set for one. ATP turbo GS 1000 8.92 159 no bar and a rain tire. 66 Chevelle small block 1190s street tires and mufflers. 70 Datsun truck 10.99 mufflers and tiny 8" old slicks. Wanna test me with that 500 HP Busa???

I’m calling BS on your facts.... don’t need a lunch but thanks for the offer.

You wanna spout off all this info but had no clue your own bike was part of the softail line?? Then you spout off lies and misinformation about the history of the Dyna. You may or may not have a Fatboy in your garage but clearly your a typical H-D poser who justs buys shiny things with no knowledge of the actual bike brand or history. You just wanna wear the t-shirt and be apart of the cool crowd @ the bar during Bike night.

...1busa, “So do you see a 60 year old grey beard sitting on a bike like that??? No.... didn’t think so.”

Several grey beards ride Busa’s, mine is actually white.:D

Your right several do ride Busa’s but your average Busa rider isn’t the same as a Harley rider. There’s a couple like myself who ride both. But I spend a lot of time on the H-D forums too and the old guys are all about comfort & Chrome. They wanna look good and feel good riding down the road. I’m not a short guy and that new FXR folds you over like a lawn chair. Clip on handlebars with forward controls. Most old guys I know who ride Harley’s ain’t riding more than 30mins on a bike like that.....

You are the poser fella!! Any time anywhere just ante up or shut up!! That's right I like shiny things, I dont own beat up crap! Drag race I am all in I will match whatever you can ride. Poser, you are a joke fella. Check The 1986 AMA drag bike rule book Comp Eliminator you will find my 23 YO a@@ #3 and pictures inside. I can go on and on Poser!!!

Harley Davidson bikes have come quite a way from the bikes of yesteryear where a tool kit was more than a decoration. They seem to still require the mid life refit though.
Any of my friends who ride HD or Metric cruisers look at me with distain when I pull up on my Busa and can't believe I am comfortable riding it as they call it a "dog humping a football" bike.

I tell them there is a bike for everyone and everyone for a bike so ride what you want and enjoy the fact you are still able to ride.

I’ve run into more than a few ‘typical’ cruiser riders who switched to a leaned forward position kind of bike specifically due to back issues they had with the cruiser or pull back seating position.

Why do guys on here get mad and call me out to drag race!?!? :race: Didn’t know I was a drag racer now all of a sudden??:D

I guess my next bike is gonna have to be a drag bike.......???

Your said you didn’t know about Softails yet you supposedly own 1. I didn’t say that you did.....

You said SOA made Dynas popular which is also not true. Dynas have been popular amongst clubs and younger riders for decades. Again I didn’t say that you did.......

So when I call you on your BS don’t get mad get your sh@t straight Homie

You can look me up in a book too!!! Since we wanna brag about irrelevant records. I’m in the Iron Butt Challenge club certified and official. 1,000 miles in under 24hrs!! You wanna race let’s race!!! Jacksonville FL to Sandiego CA what say you???

I know personally I like to have my feet under me rather than stretched out in front.

I don't personally know many cruiser riders who have switched to a sport bike but know many who did the opposite or went to adventure tour platforms.

I certainly can't see the attraction of the ape style bars which places one's arms above shoulder level...

It's all what you like, even if it's not comfortable. Who cares it's what YOU like!!! Enjoy it!!!

That goes without saying..although I do find the Hayabusa somewhat comfy, I have Heli-bars and drop pegs to help out a bit.

I just find comfort in the fact I am able to ride a bike and enjoy each and every ride I take.

None are really that comfortable to me unless it's a glide. I did have a V Rod for a short time that felt like I could ride forever, was very comfortable.
