you need to look where that info came from.
Criminals anywhere don't seem to have any problem acquiring firearms regardless of any law put up to stop them so no, i don't see any problem at all. Laws only hinder the law abiding and have no effect on the criminal.
Vermont's carry law's is what the rest of the us should be.
Just took the Concealed Carry class yesterday, it was very interesting to find out the answers to all the law-related questions about gun ownership and self defense related to using a weapon. Also addressed a lot of those "urban legend" type questions and myths like "If you kill an intruder on your doorstep drag him inside" type stuff...
Definitely also raises some questions about whether you only use the gun for personal reasons, or if you use it in situations where something bad is happening that doesn't directly affect you, where you might get away unharmed but it leaves a bad guy where they could harm or kill someone else.
So, please pick where you fall on the poll, but feel free to post your position and feelings about an armed citizenry. Also if you have questions about getting a permit or other questions feel free...
I know this thread is over a year old, but a certain incident happened today 8-xx-09 that has made me and the wife needing to carry or at least wanting to know more about local southern California laws and ways to carry.
I will not post the incident here on a public forum, I know people here will want to know so if you are informed on local southern California law or can just direct me as to where to start then PM me your phone No. and I will explain.
thanks

Sorry to hear you're having issues Bro. Problem is with where you live. (not being funny) The politicians in your delightful state have gone out of their way to ensure a ready supply of victims, actually I believe victim is something taught in schools.
Point is you're not getting much help because by and large California Does NOT issue CCW permits. SO.... Yeah.
Here's your best shot. Concealed Carry.net
Best advice, again not being snarky, is get the HELL outta So.Cal.
Using your weapon for self defense varies state to state. I have had a CCW for eighteen years, in four different states and the laws vary widely (even in your home). Talk to your local state police. Not one to dispense advice normally. Shoot if you have no other option, finish the job and then get a good attorney.
In a nation where law abiding citzens are not allowed to have weapons, the only people who do have them are the criminals.
I don't have my CC, but want it badly. Unfortunately in Nebraska it is expensive to aquire and keep one. I would like to see if there is a state that we practice reciprocity with that I could get one in, then keep that one active. If anyone knows about this idea please PM me.
