Waiting for the next class to get my lic. to carry.... Any suggestions on a good light weight gun thats easy to conceal but will do some damage? I dont know a whole lot about hand guns I have only ever shot one once but I hunt alot so I have shot hunting rifles alot!

Try the Ruger .380 LCP. It is very small. My keys are more noticible in my pocket than this gun is. People always talk 9mm or 45 for a carry but I haven't had one person yet volunteer for me to shhot them with my .380.

too bad I'm in san jose they are ccw permit nazis here maybe I need to move over to your neck of the woods :rulez:

If you make any trips outside of cali with any frequency you can get a non-resident Utah and/or a non-resident Florida CCW. It wont allow you to carry in cali but you can carry in a lot of states with it. As for the cali CCW there are some people working on that and many other things as we speak.

Is there a web site for general information on your state? Im from Ohio where should i start cause i wanna carry when i get home i got plenty of guns so now i just need to carry!

I guess I would be considered a criminal in Ohio or Il. I won't let a govenrment, state or federal, tell me I'm not allowed to protect myself. I refuse to be a willing target for a criminal.

Dude, it's even easier then that. I'll lay odd's that 90%+ of criminals don't buy their guns legally.
Trust me, if I can drive to just about any ghetto and get cocaine, I know I can
find a gun as well. They're even easier to come by.

You drive across the border to Indiana where gun's are abundant and laws are lax.
Chicago seizes ~15,000 handguns annually......and they're illegal in Chicago.
Figure that one out.

The only thing these dumbass laws do is prevent GOOD people from defending themselves.
Ask any convict in prison if he stopped to check the gun laws before he strapped his gat.
Matter of fact, here's a good special that only got aired 1 time.

It shows prison inmates who flat out tell you whuzzup with that BS.

- Myth: Gun Control Reduces Crime[/url]

No criminal can buy a gun legally - The act of a felon buying a gun from a store or individual is is a felony... Laws serve as no deterrence to law breakers!!!

Good Site for Carry Info..

USACARRY.COM

I have a Concealed Carry, I have a few guns but like to carry a Walther PPS and a CrossBreed Holster. Very Comfortable.

permit 20+ years, Glock model 30, 45 acp, corbon 165gr. jhp 1250fps. quite a wallop!

My job does not require me to carry but the STRONGLY advise I do.

As far as getting involved in a situation. You have to do some soul searching and ask will you turn it into a total blood bath. Also some times being the best wittness you can be will be more productive then putting lead down range. (armed robbery)

If active shooter: you could be next, You might have take the shot. just don't give up your biggest advantage (they don't know you are armed)

When the cops arrive drop the gun and explain after they have handcuffed you. They listen better if you don't have a gun in your hand and they don't know if you were the nut with the gun.

good luck.

"Vermont follows the federal law, which requires background checks when buying from licensed dealers," Ramsey said. "But with private sales, there is no background check, no permitting."

The state also scored poorly for not requiring that guns have childproof locks on them, has not regulated assault weapons and allows gun owners to walk around with a concealed weapon without authorization

Anyone see any problems ?

You need to look where that info came from.
Criminals anywhere don't seem to have any problem acquiring firearms regardless of any law put up to stop them so no, I don't see any problem at all. Laws only hinder the law abiding and have no effect on the criminal.

Vermont's carry law's is what the rest of the US should be.
