How to get rid of cats

Nobody's mentioned cat condoms yet. This would solve the REAL problem. You buy the 12 or 24 pack of kitty concoms, sprinkle them randomly beside bushes on the outskirts of your lawn, and the issue takes care of itself after a while. You see, REAL manly cats will take advantage of the free protection because they don't wanna catch anything off those skanky alley cats that have been ridden like Seabiscuit on the final lap. Not to mention dodging alimony [or MILK MONEY as they call it], so it's a win-win. Doesn't cost much, no one has to drink delicious car fluids, and the population decreases naturally. Just don't get the ribbed, they don't hold up.
Sometimes JD your posts are just right there...

Seriously folks I understand the outdoor cats thing, I find it obnoxious and slightly mental.

Airsoft is the way to go, especially some of their full auto options, it's just so much fun laying down some suppressive fire with a full auto MP5...

shame people let their pets roam free now days... Having had to be the "litter box" for neighbor cats, I can empathize with how disgusting someone elses cats can be... Nothing like coming home and your flowerbeds are a cesspool of cat crap...

To those of you that own cats and let them run free? please don't...

I have no more desire to clean litter boxes than you do, and much less desire to clean YOUR cats litter box... A month or two of some cat crapping around your home is enough to cause really hard feelings...
I agree... It's not right, and folks are just lazy and irresponsible.

I live in the middle of nowhere. There is nothing but country out here. The animals that run wild out here are generally wild and a problem. The last time I called about stray animals running through my yard and tearing apart my garbage I was told that there was nothing that the county could or would do. When I asked what my options were I was asked whether or not I owned a gun.

I love animals. I have a Golden Retriever. I don't want my Golden being infected with disease from some roaming stray. Guess what, I don't have a stray problem in my yard or on my street anymore.

Coyotes are pretty good target practice as well and likely aren't some little kids favorite pet.... Call it a hunch.

Went to the hardware store and got me a critter trap today. I figure I will catch them one at a time and remove them. I am trying to come up with a way to make them so I can see if they come back. Pretty sure they wont let me put a collar on them. Oh and i got a bb gun today also.

good luck but don't let them get close to you or they will tear you up good and if the cage has holes big enough ofr a paw you had better get a thick pair of gloves.

Wow, so much hostility for the kitty cats

The last stray to come to our yard is now declawed and sleeping on my bed...good luck getting rid of the strays; I know it's frustrating...

When you live out in the middle of nowhere people drop off their litters I mean litters of dogs and cats. For what ever reason people seem to have a hard time getting their pet spayed, neutered or taking them to the pound if they no longer want them.

When we lived out in BFE we had so many drop offs (almost every weekend) that my husband finally put up this HUGE sign that said "Anyone caught dropping off unwanted animals will be treated like an unwanted animal" that worked for about a year until the sign faded.

These animals running wild in the country are not some ones beloved pet.....they were dropped off by some scum bag who thought people who lived out in the country needed 6 more puppies to take care of. Most people that lived where we did had tags for their pets just incase they did get lost.

We gave away as many of them as we could but you just can't take care of dozens of animals that are dropped at you door step. And to just let them run around to get hit by a car, attacked by coyotes, starve or get infested with fleas and ticks would be a worse fate than a bullet to the head.

Sometimes you do what ya gotta do....it was never easy and I hated the people that made us do their dirty work!

still deciding what to do......as I type this here comes that black and white little F*&^ker from the otherside of the development back to its noncaring home !!! and to believe they actually told management they don't let it outside !!!!

Well it took maybe 20 minutes for the first fur ball to walk into the trap. Set up the trap, came back out 15 to 20 min later to have a smoke.. Was not even thinking aobut the trap. hear a hissing noise, I am like WTF is that. Seems Mr kitty cat walked into my trap. I took him for a little ride in the truck, I hope it does not find its way back.

Should have tired the cage from a limb in a tree and let it swing, use it as a lesson for other cats lol..

Good.glad those traps are working out for you
someone in the area must be feeding them so after you trap all the cats you can.try what I recomended the first time by marking(Peeing)around the yard to scare them off.I'd wait till dark so you dont upset the nieghbors.....& dont forget to dip your air soft pellets in antifreeze

Being that I live on the lake and there are no neighbors close that I don't personally know the animals being a child's pet is not likely.

Oh, the coyote infestation out here is TERRIBLE. I'm surprised that cat's exist. I have a neighbor about 10 miles up the road that has a herd of buffalo. The coyotes have been known to attack them on occassion.

I did the Paintball thing myself. That way the little bas*ards are marked with a bright pink spot so I know they are return visitors.

Also, paintball will kill a pigeon. Don't ask me 12 times how I know. ;)

Have "relocated" 2 more since my last post. At this rate I will be up all night lol. 2 of them were pretty messed up looking. I have been taking them to a open feild about 20 miles away. I even makde made sure it was not near a busy roadway to avoid them getting run over.. Jessica said I should put a BIG bag of cat food out there so thye wont want to come back.
