I have questions, maybe you have answers. George Floyd & Karma

Early, EARLY on we were discussing racial prejudice involved in hiring. You can be sure that racial issues come into play in firing too. Making a big public statement about anything controversial is a risk to your job and it doesn't matter if you do it outside of work.

When I was in the military-conduct on and off duty were one and the same...some soldiers thought just because they were out of uniform anything went...they found out in a hurry the opposite was true...

We got rid of lots of racists over the years...and good riddance I say.

So on both (all) sides. How is the outrage working out for US so far?
Yelling and raging at your local town hall meeting, your mayor's office, the senate,in the street.....well,that's gets you thrown out/down with perhaps a complimentary jail sentence as well.
Don't get me wrong, you will be hard pressed to find a bigger "rage-aholic" than me. I just about always win too. But that is PURE LUCK. Mike Tyson fought with pure rage. He did extremely well. But it (rage) is NOT the right way to do things.
It just isn't.
A Shaolin Monk will attempt to use his (calm) teachings to reason with someone.
If then faced with rage,he will then (calmly) kick the holy krap outa you.
But,it's all bullshi7 to some. You see it as the path to right and good things.I do not.But hey... please, RAGE ON. Get out there on the front lines,go rage at the police.Yell and throw bricks at them. Throw some bricks and set some business's on fire. After all, they are the one's who make change, write policy. Those small business owners will back you 100% after this,I'm sure of it.I know I want ALL my personal shi7 destroyed in the name of protest. I want my Busa set on fire.
I told another member if these protests are all so good for everyone,go park yer Busa down there. See what all this "Outrage" gets you.
Not too worry, these rational, calm, well meaning raging protestors won't mess with your PERSONAL property.
RAGE ON brother.:super:
Anyway, time to go ride.I shall protest the rediculasly low speed limits while I'm at it.View attachment 1621775
I'd like pics and vids of you "In the Fight" if you don't mind. I'll be happy to start the Go Fund Me page to raise your bail. I got your back brother.
Rubb.
What you are saying is just not reality or historically accurate Rubb. MLK used protests to gain civil rights and yes there was looting and property damage. There have been many race riots where whites burned and killed black areas and people throughout our history. Heck this country was founded by people who used protests with considerable property damage against their British occupiers.

In the current protests the property damage is maybe 5% of the protests, yet that is all you focus on. It's questionable if the fire bombing was even BLM protesters. There is plenty of evidence they were agitators sent in to confuse the message. When we had the race riots here in Virginia Beach in 89, it was on the news that VB was burning. I lived 10 minutes from the beach and didn't even know about it until a relative called from Detroit to ask if we were ok, Lol! Those riots damaged 5 stores and there were about 50-60 people detained and released the next day but it headed up the national news.

IMHO, any property damage is too much. But it happens and not only would talking not work, many people refused to even discuss police violence claiming flatly it didn't happen. So the protests are more a result of people not listening, sort of like you are doing now.

PS: I support BLM in the best way I can, my money and my experience. I actually stopped spending on my Busa so that money could give more to BLM, MeTo and Democratic candidates.

Enjoy your ride, be safe!

Having to be reminded that black lives matter is just sad really...it shouldn't even be a thing. For people to be judged solely by the color of their skin in the 21st century is ridiculous...

If an alien entity were to be observing our planet they must shake their heads at how we interact with each other.

Yes, I watch sci-fi shows and if there were a federation of planets, this one would not be allowed to be part of that federation I'd say...
. I bet they would lock their doors on the way by.

. I hear on TV , there’s a movement for a BLM political party.

I agree, BLM2 makes perfect sense as BLM kind of makes the presumption they are the only lives which matter, technically there can be such sayings for anything and everything...

I saw a saying which said "honey bee lives matter" the other day due to the demise of the honey bee...I thought that to be a little over the top.

I personally don't think I will see racial equality in my lifetime, it would be nice but not reality I'm afraid.
I think you just have to keep things in perspective. We tend to focus on the negative but you could also look at the last few months as a pretty miraculous time for race relations. The BLM protesters are multi-racial, maybe even mainly white people by the looks of news coverage. You have millions of people in the street and only a few bad actors causing problems. For the most part the Police have been good, the military good, mayors great, governors great, and the business community have all handled this pretty well.

It's a crazy world. I can't tell you how many times I have said to black friends that white people, basically most all people, just want to live their lives in relative peace. When a leader let's the dogs out they characterize the entire country in a negative way and they elevate the bad guys stature. As crazy as these times are I'm actually pretty amazed Trump got away with it for so long.

It's amazing that people can watch a person murdered right on their cell phones and just shrug it off. I don't know why Floyd was different from all the others but I think it's a bigger, deeper issue. I think people are just fed up with the crazy way this world is run sometimes. I also think the COVID virus gave people the brake they needed to focus on this issue.

I just hope we can make it through the next 6 months it will take to legally rid this world of Trump. The damage done is going to make putting Humpty Dumpty back together again very difficult. The next president will have a monumental task to rebuild relationships in this country and with our friends around the globe. If I were Canada, GB or any of our traditional friends I would be a bit skeptical when in the next election another more capable crazy person could win and unravel everything again.
Trump is the only thing stopping the total downfall if this country which Obama initiated. When he gets his second term he will put a quick end to this madness. The polls are wrong just like 2016. They all said the Hilderbeast would win. I bet a lot of Dems that are watching these cities being destroyed, the violence, and bloodshed, are either going to change parties or not vote. We will see.

I hope not. I think they have done an amazing job raising their issues. But first, there is a reason for a 2-party system. We need Democrats to be the mob and Republicans to be the considered leadership. They should both oppose and balance each other. Second, no party should be basically a racially based group, White or Black. This implies that there is a difference between a White and a Black or Brown American, which is exactly what BLM is fighting against.

But they always put down white people and advocate violence against them. The Leader said this the other day -

" On Monday, Black Lives Matter leader and former Bernie Sanders surrogate Shaun King called for the demolition or removal of all statues, murals, and stained glass windows of “white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends,” i.e. the Twelve Apostles. He said religious imagery was a symbol of “white supremacy” and oppression."

So he wants more destruction of churches now. Just the beginning if the Dems win.

There's a difference between what he called for and the destruction of churches.
The image of a straight blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus is ridiculous anyway. He was from the middle East....

Cops have been killing blacks disproportionately for many years and until we had cell phones people just shrugged it off and said they don't believe it.
Cops killed roughly 12 to 15% more white people than black in the past four years and I heard the same general statistic in college. Now consider deaths by police according to race of victim compared to violent crime rates according to race of perpetrator. I'm not putting all black people in the same icky boat but we all have to admit something, black people commit a hugely disproportionate percentage of crime in the US. I haven't done the math but considering black folks make up only 12 or 13% of the US population, all you need to do is look at the numbers of crimes committed by black people and white people to see a much larger percentage of black people commit violent crimes than white people. Glancing at the numbers and guessing at the percentages of the total US population separated by race, it looks possible that a larger percentage of black people commit violent crimes than all other groups combined.

This does not mean black people commit more crime on the whole. It means black people have more of a tendency to commit crime than any other ethnic group.

This is why police have a bias against black people. It's unfair. There should be a solution. I don't know what that is. I know we all use our ability to form concepts and preconceptions to survive. All thinking animals do this. As humans, we can overide this but it's in our nature to use bias for 97% of the decisions we make every day. We'd never get anything done if we thought every single thing out logically.

In the current protests the property damage is maybe 5% of the protests, yet that is all you focus on.
We don't hear anything about police brutality against blacks anymore. I know the protests are still happening but what we see on the news is a branching out of protests and they are all destructive. The autonomous zones, I think are destructive and I don't see them as merely a protest against police brutality. They're claiming to be their own country? The statue tipping and defacing is not about police brutality against blacks. I think there are a number of groups protesting and they are not all protesting the same thing.

I agree that if in that region he would not have blond hair and such. But there are thousands of churches that would be destroyed. One already had the windows knocked out. He is calling for it just by saying it. His followers will do it.

Do you think these people in this restaurant are going to vote dem?

That would probably weigh heavily in Trump's favor.

Hilderbeast
LOL "HILDERBEAST!!"

I think if a democrat President is elected, the riots and demonstrations will quiet right down.

The image of a straight blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus is ridiculous anyway.
It is historically inaccurate however if you go to Christian churches in Africa, the holy family is black. The people of the nation envision their religious icons as having the same appearance as they do. We have a diverse population. Are there no dark skinned Christian religious effigies in America? If there's not, there should be. Freedon of religion and expression are the most sacred rights we have. Everyone should worship as they see fit or not worship if they see fit. It's religion FCOL! I don't agree with any of it at this point in my life so I pretty much don't bother over what other people believe.

It will be sanctioned destruction by the Dems,

According to this article it goes way back. I'm sure there are more articles the dispute it.

“That image can probably be traced back to the Byzantine period when artists had to make choices on how to represent the ‘son of God,'” Joan Taylor, a professor of Christian origins and Second Temple Judaism at King’s College London, wrote in her new book What Did Jesus Look Like? “And they were probably inspired by existing godly figures like Zeus and Apollo.”

The Monastery of St. Catherine on Mt. Sinai in Egypt boasts the magnificent “Christ the Pantocrator” painting, dating back to the 500s or 600s A.D. Most of the earliest surviving art depicting Jesus does not suggest a specific skin color, but what Shaun King would condemn as a “white Jesus” dates back at least as far as the 600s A.D., a time long before any “white supremacy” when people of different skin colors interacted frequently in the Mediterranean world.

Shaun King’s decision to contrast Egypt and Denmark proves rather interesting. Yes, Joseph and Mary fled to Egypt to escape King Herod’s murder of babies after Jesus’ birth, but that does not suggest that Jesus had dark skin. Egypt and Judea were both part of the Roman Empire at the time, while Denmark most certainly was not. The Holy Family fled for refuge to a close geographic area, not to a place where they would necessarily “blend in.”

Modern scholars are divided on the race of Egyptians, with many insisting they were “white” or pale-skinned and others insisting they had darker skin. Many peoples in the Mediterranean world had olive skin as well.

I remember "Klinger" from MASH saying 'olive skin makes great kin' in one of their anti-racial episodes...

“I told another member if these protests are all so good for everyone,go park yer Busa down there. See what all this "Outrage" gets you.“

And you were shown a video of uniformed police acting under the color of authority stabbing car tires with their knives. Uniformed cops!

I don't remember that particular statement but remember all the characters from the show. It seem so corny when I tried to watch a rerun recently. I guess I did not have many channels to choose from back then.

@08BusaKY Yes, the Roman Empire had a big influence on art of other nations. You see the Roman influence in Egyptian Mummy death masks. Traditional Egyptian art was extemely icon-like being strict frontal or profile. The death mask paintings are highly realistic similar to art in Europe many centuries later. Even so, the faces on the death masks look much like Mideast people of today. Dark hair and eyes and dark skinned. The intermixing of Roman blood would have had very little impact on the appearance of people living in Egypt. My opinion is that it is safe to assume that the Holy Family looked very Arabic. Christianity had such an impact on civilization that there probably were Romanized images of the Holy Family. Christ was in Rome at the peak of his notoriety. Anyway, we do have black Jesus today here and other places. I'm sure there are some asian looking Jesuses in the world too.

I have a C note that says chump will not get a second term. Any takers? If Cap will allow it you can donate that C note to this forum.

Be careful drawing inference from what a leader says to how it's interpreted. When the president does it you say his words are what he's responsible for, nothing more. Either that's true, or it isn't.

I have no idea how those people are going to vote, don't really care. Nobody's mind is being changed at this stage of the game, either you think this president represents the values you hold, or you don't.
