I don't know what to think about the conspiracy theories. All I know is conspiracy theorists are loving this point in history.

I have a buddy in TX and I've heard thai all for years. Obama was going to take over, the US was going to go banrupt within a month, by next week, within 24 hours. Never happened. Now he's saying SEE, SEE this is what I've been talking about all these years. I knew what was going on ten years ago!!

No offense murph, I have to hear it from someone more important than you or my other buddy, John. It has to become some kind of reputable news before I will will consider it. Yes, I know the news is controlled but it's all we have. You have to sift through it and come up with some conclusions based on as many sources as possible. I'm not considering a Youtuber or two to be a reliable source if that's all there is talking about this stuff. I'll admit, it is thought provoking. @fallenarch I can see where you're coming from on all but the last. The economy has been great under Trump until COVID-19. I don't know if Trump did anything to improve the economy, it might just be increased confidence that Americans feel because Obama is gone and we got something a lot different. A volatile stock market is good and it's been that. It had been stagnant for long time before Trump came into ofice. I think Trump's good for business whether he's actually doing anything to bring that about or not.

What you are saying is just not reality or historically accurate Rubb. MLK used protests to gain civil rights and yes there was looting and property damage. There have been many race riots where whites burned and killed black areas and people throughout our history. Heck this country was founded by people who used protests with considerable property damage against their British occupiers.

In the current protests the property damage is maybe 5% of the protests, yet that is all you focus on. It's questionable if the fire bombing was even BLM protesters. There is plenty of evidence they were agitators sent in to confuse the message. When we had the race riots here in Virginia Beach in 89, it was on the news that VB was burning. I lived 10 minutes from the beach and didn't even know about it until a relative called from Detroit to ask if we were ok, Lol! Those riots damaged 5 stores and there were about 50-60 people detained and released the next day but it headed up the national news.

IMHO, any property damage is too much. But it happens and not only would talking not work, many people refused to even discuss police violence claiming flatly it didn't happen. So the protests are more a result of people not listening, sort of like you are doing now.

PS: I support BLM in the best way I can, my money and my experience. I actually stopped spending on my Busa so that money could give more to BLM, MeTo and Democratic candidates.

Interesting take on this Rubb. I was wondering if you might point out a case of major, or even minor social change that happened in this manner (calm discussion)? Cops have been killing blacks disproportionately for many years and until we had cell phones people just shrugged it off and said they don't believe it. Even with the murders video taped many still say I don't think there is a problem.

I'm doing a little bit here and there to help with change. We can only hope one day there will be a level playing field right across the board.
I personally think (I may leave under a rock) that with each generation it gets a little better. My grandfather would not have been pleased if I came home with other than white as a GF.Nothing would have been said.It was thier generation. It was thrust upon you. My Dad would not have cared,he just liked women.Liked to meet all my GF's. Now there's me. My daughter has dated non-white. Cool with me. If he's a good dude,no worries. My son dates MEN. @murphc13 I watched most of the video of Obama talking about being prepared for pandemics like the Ebola outbreak that happened in Africa or possibly 'some other flu virus like the Spanish Flu.' I think it's just a coincidence. Viruses popping up isn't anything unique to the Trump administration. What is unique is how much this one has taken hold of the world even though it seems to be relatively nonlethal. It is detracting from Trump's chances to be reelected but the riot situation is even worse. I doubt either was planned by the opposition but the Democrats have used them for all their worth to make that party look more favorable than Trump. Biden though-- my God he's suffering from dementia. What would he be like four years from now? If he wins. I hope he has a good VP because he's going to be doing what he's doing right now which is about nothing. I would not want to see him debate anyone. That would be cruel.

Impending pandemic?Of course.Obama admin gave the Chinese Institute of Virologoy(read Wuhan lab) 3.7M in an ongoing grant(or at least in 2015).

I absolutely do not care how people vote in a presidential election. Voter turnout in this country is an absolute joke, with the winning candidate typically commanding about 1/6 of the population, so obviously most people in the country don't care either.

I know you used to be a democrat, and you are precisely who the party needs to focus on. They haven't/don't/aren't, and they are paying the price with your demographic. I agree with you that the party has changed, they've got complacent. What does surprise me though is that you haven't seen through the Republican party's lies yet, they are not any better. Nunes and Cotton are equally as out of touch with reality, just in the opposite direction.

I don't think a lot of Bernie supporters will vote. They feel they got the screw last election and this one too.

I'm surprised the Indigenous people haven't yet organised and started an uprising of their own or at least jumped on board with the ongoing uprising. Their history of broken treaties, oppression, murdering of their people and being thrown off their ancestral lands at gun point certainly gives them cause.

We in Canada have treated our indigenous people poorly over the years as well.
