It just doesn't stop

I can't remember who put it this way, but it was pretty correct.

There was a time when arguments got settled by "taking it outside". Fist were as bad as it got. And you had to think about if it was worth getting your ass kicked in a fight. That led to de-escalation more often than not.

Now, just shoot them.

Which is met with "Shot them before they shoot me"

Firearms are like a fist fight now. Too common a way to settle an argument.
Seems to be the "go to" thing to do these days in the US...

Get in a fender bender or honk your horn and you risk being shot..

.....or retrieve a ball, ring a door bell or get lost.....

Key point here. Legal protest. A protest requires permits, permissions and coordination by the governing bodies where that protest is to be held in. So they can make things like traffic control, additional police etc to support it.

I'd like to see who pulled the permit for this and who approved it. Wishful thinking I know. But you have elected city officials saying it's a protest. Leaving out if it's actually a legal one.

As you often point out, it's expected that things are to have a certain amount of governing, or things descend into chaos.

Or in Chicagos case you have a government that isn't governing against events such as this. And making excuses for it. And it's descending into chaos. Has been for years.

It's painful to watch these keys cities in America turn into 3rd world mentalities. Chicago is the home to Obama. Haven't seen him make any statements about it.

Yet.
Hi. I beleave in free speach and the to be able to protest. Big but the government should have control of it. They should beable to tell when and were and how long they can protest. Like from 1:00 PM to 1:01 PM. That way the people cam still protest and have free speach.

Chicago is the home to Obama
So it's Obama's fault....LOL <--- that's what you did to me BTW.

Why are we always talking about Chicago (I mean I know why) when Memphis has literally twice the violent crime rate per 100,000 people. I mean I hate to see such historic places like Memphis damn near lead the nation in violence?? So focused on 19th place. Why?

I need to go do some Vinyl wrapping on my ZX10...I.E. I'm running away....

Very valid question. Chicago has been in decline for years. No matter how much they make excuses, it continues to decline. It has a little more meaning to me because my dad's side of the family comes from there. I spent many a year there as a child. Obama is sort of a figurehead we know of from there. His chief of staff was supposed to clean it up. I'd want him to ask his hometown folks to do better.

Memphis could well be another sewer. I'm very willing to discuss the commonalities and differences between them. Seattle was where my sister called home for 25 years. I built a cabin for my parents there. I'd go there for the last 10 years The last 2 years I went there it became a terrifying place to consider walking around in. Another city in decline at a high rate of speed.

I used to live in Orange County CA. What areas we see as tent cities now, I used to frequent. It was safe, friendly and beautiful. It has been vibrant for 40 years before I got there. Been gone for 20 years. I'd love to know what happened there too.

All of this is worth discussing. It is part of the America that was

Here, let me set up a pot for you.....where is Egypt? Are Egyptians African? If the answer is no, why? I'm half African but you would never know it.
More like a bowl, not so much a pot :p

The law I paraphrased was an American law aimed at enforcing segregation and racial purity and other crap, so “African blood” really refers to black Americans. Doesn’t translate to a worldly view.

But I’ll play-You are most definitely African. Well, half by your word. While Ancient Egypt was black, modern Egypt is predominantly Arab and so if I had to guess, (for the sake of conversation only) visually you probably have more Arab features than what most would consider African features, depending on what the other half is lol

It does sort of make you wonder though. If Obama is half and half he's is labelled as black. Tiger Woods is 1/3 black. He is labelled as black. At what point in % does the ethnic label change?

I'm half Eritrean on my mothers side and 1/4 German and 1/4 English on my fathers side. As kid I never knew what to put on those stupid cards where they asked you your race...now days I just put other. Everyone always thought I was Mexican or Puerto Rican.

I had an 83 year old Japanese neighbor. She got called that old Mexican by quite a few. Lol.

It was actually interesting to learn about her experience when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. She was a young girl in Hawaii living with her family. (Japanese obviously). Pretty interesting life stories there.

Society hates black females, horrible choice lol

I'm not gonna dare discuss this! Lol

Yes it does not stop - Trump ot Biden the US has a problem

“In New York state, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was shot and killed on Saturday after a friend drove down the wrong driveway. And last Thursday in Missouri, 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot in the head and arm when he rang the doorbell at the wrong address.”

Another one - they keep on a coming

Hoping there will be an alternative who isn't Trump or Biden. Kennedy is hard no. Maybe someone else will jump in on the dem side. I want Mitch Landreu but he doesn't seem to be interested. Maybe Manchin? Maybe someone else but I can't imagine who. Hoping for somebody though. I don't want to vote for Biden again.

I don't know anything about Harris' ancestry. I do know that if folks are half black they are generally referred to as black.

All I know about the interview is what I saw on CNN. Where you might find the full verbiage I have no idea. Local paper maybe?
I went and found the CNN version. You sort of left out some parts of the CNN version.

CNN did say the grandson said he thought it was racially motivated.

CNN also stated that his older brother disagrees. That part is kind of relevant too don't you think?

So this serves no sense of direction towards racism if two equal family members disagree about it.

Now we have another part that you may not find relevant in your summary.

The grandson did say his political views differed from his grandfathers dramatically. And that he and his grandad had lost touch for years. He did manage to throw in a BLM statement.

So ummm.......yeah. Thanks for the info on the interview. It was enlightening.
