MotoGP 2024

So far Martin is the only official change. Ducati has yet to make an announcement. Hearing the Bastianini is headed to Tech 3 now, and the Pramac Yamaha rumor just won't die. Greatest silly season I can remember.

I think Jorge was a little bit too arrogant with Ducati, he will be at a disadvantage with his new team, but in the end not sure if things may have turned out differently.

Link from what his position was middle of May below.

His attitude cost him that seat 2 times. First when they chose Bastianini and now this. Dudes got skills no doubt, but his ultimatums cost him. Now will he be taking the Number 1 plate with him...

Telling interview with Massimo Rivola (Aprilia Team manager) regarding the Martin signing, and interestingly enough his answer to the Maverick Vinales question! At around the 3 minute mark he starts visibly dancing around the Vinales question. I may be reading too much into his body language, but if I had to guess I would say Maverick is on shaky ground. May be nothing, but there are certainly a number of people ready willing and able to kick the stool out from under Maverick to get that ride!

Edit: Dorna video, so you have to go to Youtube to watch it! :banghead:

Official now.

Some interesting stuff going on at Aprilia. First Espargaro announced his retirement, then they sign Jorge Martin, that all made sense. Since then rumors have surfaced of Aleix moving to a Honda test role, why he wouldn't have stayed at Aprilia to do the same is anyone's guess. But now I'm hearing rumblings of Vinales possibly moving on also. I don't honestly think he's going to find a better ride than he has now, so what is going on at Aprilia to make both current riders to want out? The article below is not well translated, but it does touch on all of this.

MV Agusta

I read an article about this yesterday but it seemed a little far fetched. Is Ago too old to be a team manager??? That would be epic.

Are the blanks just because contracts haven’t been signed yet? Not meant to be a hint of acrimony as well?
Pretty much. There are a few flyers in there. Vinales and Mir for instance are both heavily rumored to be leaving their factory seats (cant believe I typed that actually!) for either satellite rides or retirement. But overall the bulk of the class are out of contracts at the end of this season! Going to be cutthroat from here on in! Even hearing that Iannone may be poised to take Vinales seat in a return to the ride he vacated for his doping ban. A lot of it will hinge on what happens to Pramac. If they leave for Yamaha like most suspect after Marquez shunned them, it leaves 2 highly desirable Factory GP25's in play to go to Gresini or VR46. Also Fermin Aldeguer keeps telling people that he is contracted to get one of them! Not sure how or why they would commit to that, other than Ducati sees something Acosta-like in him that I do not. The summer break is leading to a lot of speculation on all fronts, and Assen isn't for 2 more weeks.

This could be cool. The Silverstone MotoGP round is set to have all retro liveries for the race. Why oh why did Suzuki pull out a year early and rob us of a Pepsi Suzuki inspired RGV?

I’d like to see Bezzecchi get a new bike. Could the VR46 team get just one new model leaving one rider with an old one? The team owner not Ducati would decide who rides it right? That decision would be made beforehand right? Imagine how Fabio Q. would ride on a new Ducati.

Just keeps getting crazier by the day. Vinales to Tech3 KTM! I get that all the KTM's are considered "Factory bikes" but he must have really had a bug up his rear over the Martin hire, or there was something more overt happening that hasn't been publicized (likely never will be!). Just don't understand why you vacate a factory ride that has shown that it can win against the Ducati juggernaut right now? Binder being surrounded by Acosta, Bastianini and now Vinales had better improve his game and fast!

BTW I heard about this through a Japanese Twitter feed that I actually like alot, but you have to Translate to English. They reference the Motorsport.com link below, just giving credit where its due.

Another link to the same basic story. Question I have is who will they put alongside Martin at Aprilia? Everyone is speculating that it will be Bezz or Digi, but I have also heard Iannone may be welcomed back to his old seat there. Ducati have to find a spot for Aldeguer and if Pramac do indeed move to Yamaha then its either VR46 or Gresini for him. Seems that no one want to ride the Honda except Zarco and Aleix. Marini's stuck, Mir and Nakagami may retire, so maybe some of the orphaned riders from KTM or Stackhouse may find their way there alongside Ai Ogura, who is a shoe in for the LCR seat.

Next years grid will not look anything like it does today that much is certain.
