Mototeck undertail - group buy

long story short, seems the vendor ran out of tails... mostly the black ones and never bothered to tell us so we have all been waiting around for them to show up... some people have also gotten there tails in and have had problems with the lights flickering but that seems to be an isolated issue thank goodness.

yes.. basically it depends on what color you ordered.. someone here ordered the primer one.. ( i thought it was they were going to send black.. instead they sent the primered base one..

Date of Delivery: March 13

i know that doesnt seem fair.. someone who waited to place their order on March 3.. then gets a tracking number a few days later with expected delivery of March 13.. while some placed their order on Feb 21 and still no tracking number!

again, i am trying to resolve this issue today. so please check your PMs.

Here..check this out... on their policy page... if we cancle our orders they will charge us a 20% cancleation fee and they wont refund shipping so i'm thinking we will be out almost $50 if we cancel.... I will never deal with these people again and i will tell others to steer clear of them. They might screw the few of us that are left without a undertail but as long as i can help it i will help others from getting screwed too!

Im calling Exotic tomorrow to look into canceling. I feel I've waited long enough and given them ample opportunity to make this right and they haven't even had the courtesy to call and explain why there is a delay. I have to agree with TSgt on this one.

Hey, sorry I was at "Bikeweek", got my tail, installed it, the color isn't perfect but damn close... it works great, install took less than an hour. I don't remember which bracket I ordered but I need a steel one as my bike is lowered and I had to move it rear from where it goes so as not to get into the plate. The steel one will allow me to bend the plate up a little bit...

I'm on hold with them now.... its amazing how they stay in business.... fugging amazing. This girl is an airhead... truely qualified for a career at McDonalds.


I did speak with Rob finally.... I guess the sales group doesnt speak to the customer service group... he had no intention of compensating anything for the wait and said that the delay was that the orders were not entered into the system until Friday the 24th, which means they didnt process til Monday the 27th. Still crap and I will never buy from them again but at least its some information.

I left my foam in and pushed it back for a nice tight squeak free fit.

We removed the "stoopid" clips and soldered the factory connectors onto the tail, all was done with glue filled sealing heatshrink tubing.

I ziptied everything snug inside the tail so nothing is going to wiggle around or get hooked on the crap like my gloves I stuff into the tail. So my lights have not flickered yet.

The "red" is not and exact match but looks good enough, much closer that the "TopGuns" I have seen.

My bike is lowered 1 inch in the rear and the plate will get destroyed and probably bust the undertail if the bracket is mounted where they say to put it. I moved it back 1 inch so the plate is just under the blinkers. The steel bracket will get slightly modified to further prevent this catastrophy...

I rode with two "TopGun" equipped Busa's in Daytona and was told my brake/tail lights were brighter/easier to see. Blinkers were a toss up. I kinda like the "TopGun" style better but this price was tough to beat even with the aggrevation involved.

Installation was less than 1 hour...

I can post up pics later when I get home...
