Place your bets….TOP SPEED!

Second run, wind is out of control. I’ll have to pull data, gotta be 10-15kt++

To hit 200mph gearing has to be high enough to get to that speed at max HP which is around 10000 rpm. So a rear 200/60/17 would do it, if it fits. And a long stretch, is needed, to get that top speed, more than 2 mi for sure.

Unfortunately, without going to Bonneville we don’t have paved courses with the ability to run to those distances. It’s all an aero and horsepower game to get over 200+ in the shorter distance. No doubt with basic bolt-on’s and a component and appropriate size rider 200 is achievable. I have no doubt the Gen-3 is better than the Gen-2 for Top Speed runs.

looking at the weather and airport runway ,the wind is either 15mph headwind (North to South) or following (south to north).

it looks like a live airport - are flights all cancelled today ?

The G3 is touted in their blurb as being in the top three as regards drag coefficient.
Either way all versions of it are slipperier than a slippery thing.
Looking at the frontal aspect, the G3 seems noticeably wider than the earlier bikes from memory. Seems more flared.

GEN I’s are king for slipperiness. How could any of you think that the sharp edges of the new GEN II OR III are more aerodynamic?
Because they wouldn't design the new one that was inferior in any way than previous models. Even the gay chrome bits are advertised as contributing in a positive way to drag.
Polish must play a part also.

Go get it Josh !

Hey Josh, I just wanted to say 178, almost 179 is a credible baseline to work from. Even with wind you're hauling @ss !

Didn’t run as fast as I hoped because of WIND but I did break the P/P1350 production class record for all categories. So Busa still dominating as usual…

This is just about as fast as I have gone and it was on my Gen2 ZX-14 with a full system and tuned. It was in about 1 mile like your run. That bike had +4 rear sprocket so it was running at about 10,000 rpm nearly doing 180 mph. Maybe the hp was running down way up top as someone pointed out earlier, it was still accelerating but very gradually. At that speed, it's a lot of ground you cover to pick up even 1 mph. I did have a 200/55 rear tire on so that should have helped counteract the shorter sprocket gearing. Man I miss that bike but I'm glad I still have my busa. Keep at it Got-Busa. I wish I had the spare cash to get out and do LSR myself. It's nice of you to share so some of us can live through you!
