Ready to hear More about my inability to find

IT's all done!!! Providing the BMW dealership doesn't do anything weird, it's on like Donkey Kong... I am still Just blown away.

Handling, Better than Rx-8... At least it FEELS better, more planted, tighter. 335i Just feels amazing.

Brakes, had to dig my sunglasses off the dash board after hitting them once.

Simply amazing, terrific feel.

Automatic Tranny.... NOT so much, good stuff I'm sure, but the 6 speed is where it's at, longer throws than the RX but better and smoother shifting. Clutch take up and feel are also better.

Finally the two little Turbos and an inline 6... Just wonderful. Felt like a V8, drove like a V8, but with a wonderful little whistle and sigh under the hood. Great exhaust sound.

Size wise the 335i isn't much bigger inside than the RX8 but the head room is there, and it fits really well. Will probably take me an hour to get it just right, but the seats have more adjustments than a chiropractor so I should be good to go.

Top it all off I get to order it to my specifications and it'll show up brand new? I'm all over it.

I think I am pretty much DONE shopping...

(GSXTacy @ Feb. 13 2007,12:13) Hey rev, just sat in that 335 the other day at the car show! Pics dont do it justice. Awsome car. I hope your not very big though. I'm 6' and wide at the shoulders. I had zero head room and little side to side. If your under those specs, you should be ok, its awsome.

Yeah it's still a good snug fit, but I have enough head room to be comfortable and that is the difference. Just enough. But I will pay closer attention on Friday when I go back. If the Coupe is touching my head then I'll do the 335i sedan. I drove one and as well and it's wonderful.

I am actually floored. I'm a skeptic, a pr!ck, a cynic, and more than a little bit of a misanthrope. But, despite my best efforts to really find something to dislike the best I can come up with is that the Gear shift is over to the right about an inch to far... That's about it.

I was expecting it to be good, after all not ALL BMW customers could be doing it for image, but I wasn't expecting to actually be blown away by how much better dynamically the BMW is than most anything I've ever driven.

Anyway, I'm still giddy....

OK, let us know. What kind of cash is involved? You did say you were leasing right. Thats kind of what im looking to do after child support is done. I love the beamers, especially the M3! But then again, I made the mistake and sat in an H2 hummer the same day. I used to pass the hummer of as a "look at me" vehicle, not anymore. That may well have been the most comfortable truck/suv I sat in all day. I'm wide and its wide. I love it. Good luck Rev, hope it all works out for you. The customer service at a BMW dealership, car or motorcycle is out of this world, they treat you like kings. My cousin leased the cheapest BMW they had at the time. Like you they ordered the options they wanted and waited for it to show up. BMW also mailed them a couple of leather coats they werent expecting. Good Luck!

Go for the BMW 645 Ci.

50:50 weight distribution
333 hp @ 5500 rpm
332 ft lb @3600rpm

Well Sure, but now it's the 650i coupe and starts at $73.9 Otherwise you bet! But it would be the M6, not the 650. I want a 510HP V-10...

OK, I don't like talking money, and final details are all mine, but right now BMW 335i leases START at $499 until the end of February. Yup, START. That's a 3 year 36k mile lease.

Nicely loaded, I am going to be looking at prolly $50 more than that a month, with a significant down payment or a dollar total of about $50k or so. Tags Taxes etc...

For me and my 1.5 mile commute, and short attention span, a lease is a terrific idea. I've put 3k miles roughly on my RX over the last year. Almost driven daily so low mile lease is an excellent option.

Personally bro I'd stay the hell away from an H2 like it's on fire. It is a re-body and while I am sure it's comfy the Tahoe is going to provide the same comfort without the stigma...

BMW all the way.. That's a no-brainer. The new turbo Bimmer is awesome, and turns in perf numbers very close to the current M3. Keep hearing rumors that the next M3 will pack the 400HP V8 the M5 had in the previous platform.

Those Germans simply engineer their cars to a higher standard than most of the rest of the world IMO.

Congrats Rev!!!! Sounds like you're sold!

Can't wait to see the pics...

OK, I think I am all done assuming everything works out. But Now... I have like 240 possible color, wood, leather options that will certainly gimmie a head ache.

I haven't been this giddy, since getting the busa ordered.

No, I'm pretty sure that I am about to get voted off the island for going on about cars so much as it is.

We'll see though, there are a few options and combinations that seem like they would be fun.

-Black leather seems to be the obvious choice, but the wife likes the gray leather, heck, red and black could be cool.

-Exterior, is the real issue... I suppose I can keep posting picks and stuff in this thread, and folks who want to look can, I'm not forcing anyone.

ONE BIG Decision though... Navigation sytem that includes a large display, integrated voice control, Ipod display, controls HVAC, and a few other things... Worth $2100

Oh and it adds another arch..

Without the Navigation... and with the gray interior.
0733_LCAD_4AS.jpg

And what About THIS? Bright Red Seats? Kinda fun...
0733_LCD1_4AS_609.jpg

Seriously though, Prolly black interior with the dark wood.
0733_LCSW_4AS.jpg

Exterior wise.

Black is of course an option.
0733_475_profile_zsp.jpg

BUT this is "Arctic" something, and it color shifts a little, kind of neat.
0733_A34_profile_zsp.jpg

Then we have this Blue that is pretty tight.
0733_A51_profile_zsp.jpg

But the Silver is calling
0733_354_profile_zsp.jpg

And finally a good grey...
0733_A22_profile_zsp.jpg

I've always been drawn to a dark, CLOSE feeling interior, but a lighter color might be really nice looking...

Wife had Electric Red w/black interior and dark wood. It drew great comments where ever she went... Awesome color for the 3 series.
She drives a Carbon Black M5 now, which I love to drive, but she really misses the Red 3 Series.

You know what they say about light colored interiors...., floormats start looking like a doormat at a hog farm.... You'll enjoy whichever color combo you choose immensely!

Only problem with black leather is how damn hot it gets...Mike will find this out in a few months with his newly acquired Mustang
laugh.gif

Surely the most impressive option, but you may want to see how much you want to sweat in the summer months. You're not in Tampa anymore, so maybe it won't be so bad...

I love the lighter colors like the silver and gray...no to the blue; I have spoken
laugh.gif
Black exterior is always awesome, just a pain to keep clean...

Can you go for silver and red interior? That would look sweet; some may call it an armadillo, but not I
smile.gif

The navigation system looks tight...worth the cash? Not sure...depends on how much you'll be road-tripping...

Either way, it's going to be a sweet car!

Hot? Come on Darlin I'm in the NW, there's no sun to speak of really. I mean it does get sunny up here in the summer but A/C in the car is pretty much optional.

My conservative side says do the black leather With Dark wood, and Black Paint.

On the other hand the Arctic Metallic with the Grey leather would look pretty good.

Part of me does want to do the Black or Silver though with the red and Black "Pimp" leather option.

Remember, Medium Pimpin.

That MOFO is off da hook Keith, now don't be stupid and sell the Busa too.
