ROADTOAD's new ride

Can't get used to that front fairing but the rest looks sick. I wonder how often you will go through all its gears at full speed. Must be mind blowing. Good luck with it. I'm curious which parts you will pimp up again.

Oh and a H2 is pretty hard to wheelie :moon:
The H2 is one of the most difficult bikes to wheelie. This is because of the supercharger; when it kicks in it makes it hard to find the balance point.

But if Sarah can’t, no one can
She saves the best for last-> at ‘’18:20.

That young lady can teach me some tricks , great talent right there . Power wheelies are more or less expected , especially as more power is freed up , I'm guessing . As for flat out in every gear , well maybe not every gear lol . I got places where the Zed14 gets a bit of a stretch , so we will see how the H2 performs there . Also , the H2 will get to top speed quicker than most , so you are not pinned waiting for top speed like a Busa etc. , stock bike vs stock . We also got a new drag strip just opened up ( Bend Motorsport Park Sth. Australia ) , that also has a road race circuit with a 1.3km straight ( I think ) . That track is about 80km away , I got a few I know who take track day events there . Plus , I will be letting my old mate Big Al ( 60kg rider ) have a drag on it eventually , once I get some kit to set it up for that . I want to be able to swap configerations around on this bike , both short wheelbase and long for whatever I want it to do , that is the plan with this bike . It is just a fun , crazy project bike , to share with a couple of trusted mates . I got my other two bikes as my main rides so I am pretty happy really .

The H2 arrived today very late in the arvo . Wow , still cannot believe there is a brand spanking new H2 in my possession . Now sporting the titanium Vandemon exhaust and Brembo GP4-MS Calipers with Corsa Corta Clutch and Brake masters . This bike feels very light to move around , because it is slightly lighter wet weight with pipe , when comparing to my Zed14 reduced wet weight . I got a few thing to do like a new screen to fit up , also a tail tidy , so I will get onto that . I odered a set of BST wheels , and a billet plenum and intecooler with some supercharger gears . I will run it in first ,then get a base reading , then a woolich tune and maybe fit the plenum / intercooler then . I want this to be as reliable as I can , but there are no garuntees with H2 . I got a lot of people before me that have done a lot of the hard work finding out what works or not , so I plan to find out everything I can to build it the way i want . I just want a fast short wheelbase H2 for now tho .

Heartiest Congratulations....!!

I got a first ride in yesterday morning on the H2 , I actually found the seating position and foot to arse ratio to be good , in fact , comfortable . I am impressed , I got out in my most comfortable ride gear , and am able to fit this bike quite well . What a freaking blast , even fairly careful as I was going , man it picks up its skirts real quick . The bottom end initially feels a lot less torque on tap than the Zed14 , but 3500rpm + on , it starts to pick up and 4000 + it is getting very snappy and considerably more urgent forward movement as the revs climb . Well , this is all going in amongst traffic , and I keep thinking reverse shift as I had on the Busa and KTM . Going to keep it conventional shift , like the Zed14 , my ankle seems to be able to take it so far . The Kawasaki auto blipper / Quick shifter is perfection , buttery smooth .
Anyway , I got some crap weather coming up , so might get out tomorrow morning if weather is holding . This bike feels like such a special machine , it is hard to convey how good it feels . I remember my rides on my old roots type blower equipped GSXR I built back in the day , that was also a pretty special bike , now this is like being on a futuristic alien built version lol .

I'll bet some mornings you wake up and wonder where your Busa went that shared your bedroom....

Which bike has moved into it's old spot?

Well Sarge , yes , sure I miss my Busa , you and I both know I was more than a little attached to that bike . Blimey , that big cc gal and I shared a bedroom for many years . I remember fondly , some nights we would find ourselves dreaming of endless rides together...shoot..apex overshoot , have I mentioned that before? Anyway , I got restless man , yeah I got more than a bit distracted ... again , by shiny billet and toxic green beauty . I started to drift to the dark side , you all seen it ... that ZX14R purchase and nurturing build , all for forbidden pleasures I just had to satisfy ... Then , even after that long loving build , I was not done , no sir , I went window shopping while my beloved Busa was tucked up at home !! I went to looking at Euro TRAS...Treasure , yes ... I fell again in lust , but this time for an Austrian beastly beauty . All the while I fitted her in all the lovely bits I could lavish her with .... I was looking to yet another conquest.....But this time Sarge , I had drained the dough down to dangerous levels , as most addictions will do !!! I had to make a horrid choice , either , stop this madness right then and there , or... sell off my beloved Busa , yes , that is right , I traded her off for wads of cold had cash ....!!! Well you know the rest , I now got me a new main squeeze , I am smitten like any stupid luv nutted bean bagged fool ...well , for the moment anyway... H2 now sleeps in my bedroom .

Some pics , perhaps of a simpler time , when we still had exciting plans , and of till death lovin future with each other .... lucky no young un ever hatched ...we had the bloody cot ready an all ...

PS.
I think I will keep my Yoshi tank , my 3 titanium set of axles , my brand new Gen 2 forks etc. because I am thinking there may well be room in the last end bedroom for a Gen 1 , maybe , one of these days .

You are slowly being surrounded by the green machines....good thing that Austrian beast came along to keep the peace...

It must be a real challenge as to which one to ride...I went through that for years and am very glad I went to one bike so the choice was made simpler...I was up to 6 bikes there for a while (well years) and it was a real pain in the arse...especially since I was normally deployed somewhere and all of them sometimes sat for an entire riding season.

Yes , the Busa was loosing out to the ZX14R for rides truth known , and the KTM is still in process of running in , so I got to now run in two bikes . With the H2 , I am not concerned if the ride time gets reduced after run in and tuning , because it is truly a long term build with that bike , and will quite possibly be the $ value of the other 2 bikes combined , and I feel it to be extra special with it .

Speaking of green, I saw a ZX4RR and it was a stellar little bike...what a cool machine....I could only imagine having something like that when I was starting out riding....I was a 2 stroke guy in those days...
Yeah me too , 2 stroke RZ350K was my favorite machine , giant killer in the twisties . We had 250cc limit on learner riders and then P plates , so Aussie market had heaps of pretty trick 250cc bikes to choose from . I had an RZ with RG front end and we was building a reed blocked 373cc TZ on an RD250LC bottom end , ended up just getting a RZ350 .

Here you can get your license and buy a Hayabusa if you want to....lots of older riders decide to get their license and buy HD bikes these days...

My first street bike was a Kawasaki 259 triple...lots of fun but a heavy little thing....then on to Yamaha 2 strokes until I went into the 4 stroke realm...I kept an RD400F Daytona in my fleet for many years and should still have it as it was a lot of fun....I spent a lot of time and money on that thing and it was pretty scary...

The 250cc limit has changed over to a power to weight limit for some years now , with quite a few models with added ecu restriction , opening up physically bigger cc bikes to all to learn on .
Just back to the new Kawasaki ZX4RR , it is certainly a nice machine , there were a few in the dealership when I was scoring the H2 . The lads said if you can fit on a H2 , you will fit on a ZX4RR . I was thinking my fat arse might be well over the limit for such a beauty tho , but be nice in collection .
That RD400F Daytona would be worth some coin , and only going up I imagine . I look back at the the old 2 stroke days with much fondness , those were the days of out all day and night , riding , racing and just having wild times in general .

The sound of the RD with Micron and DG pipes (I had both) was intoxicating....as in the day MotoGP was 2 strokes, every time I started that beast, I was harkened to MotoGP.....that bike was blue-printed, ported, polished, jetted, Boydsen reeds, punched out with Wiseco pistons, Barnett clutch, rear sets, Clubman bars, Gold Tech valves and springs with updated rear shocks (I can't remember the company).

It was a real wild machine...probably not worth as much with all the stuff I did to it...

I was real close to getting a Walter Wolf RG500 but the dealership burnt down before I could get it...

That RD400F would still command a good dollar , not for original pristine collector , but for a fella into bikes of that era , with all the right mods of the day done to it . The fella that bought my Busa for example , he just wanted the bike as is , not a single extra oem piece with it . Anyway , that Walter Wolf RG500 would of been an amazing score , they were beautiful . I still yearn for a fast 2 stroke , but I need someone good to work on it for me really nowadays . There is or was an RG500 not far from me , really pretty ruff , and that shop was asking 27K, I was thinking of taking a look , but still haven't . I meant to clarify earlier , Aussie market had RD series Yamaha for aircooled and first RD250LC / RD350LC , but when the power valve 250 / 350 / 500 arrived , they were called RZ series , so RZ500 etc .

I've seen RD400 Daytonas on EBay and they were asking crazy numbers for them....almost any of the older "benchmark" bikes are demanding a lot of money...I had an RZ350 later on but only for a while as a guy I knew really wanted that bike so I sold it to him...(should have kept that one too....hell I should have kept them all...)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We got a few bikes here that the US didn't get even though we are on the same continent however lots of them trickled down there.

When that dealership burned, they had a lot of bikes (I think it was around 40 or so) including a mint '81 1100 Katana, GSXR1100 limited and many other such beauties....including the Walter Wolf 500 and another 500 and a 250.....

It was a sad day when it burned, they did all the main work on my race bike and it was scheduled to go in there a few days after the place burned down.
