ROADTOAD's new ride

I know you are another gun on the Busa , and can swing that big ol girl round with aplomb .... so we wait patiently Six , for you to get onto buying that pristine Gen 2 , no doubt, that is sitting somewhere right now waiting for you to get on it bro . :race::)

I still love the Gen2 engine, my all time favorite.
I will never say never on a Gen3, but it would have to be used, completely sorted of all factory problems, and a price I couldn't refuse.
Otherwise, I will remain on Gsxr1k's, unless something else can convince me it's a better fit.
I do know that I street rode the Gen2 a little harder than any of the 1k's, as it's extra weight just makes it feel more stable on bumpy roads(and that's with correct suspension on either) to Me.
I truly felt like I could ride it to it's limits.
The Gsxrs, lol, not so much, as I quickly run out of skill.
And, I stand by my skill level...as washed up motorcycle rider...
lmao!

Weighed the Zed14 today , 230kg full tank street trim , equal to the Busa . This is about what I sort of expected , it has been looked over extensively , while still

maintaining good street ability . Now just waiting on the new rotors .

First ride of the season in the hills today . Decided I would take the Zed14 out as I was going for a ride with a another ZX14R owner , a good fella I have recently got to know through a forum . Anyway , lots of crazy tin tops out , being a Sunday and all , but managed to carve through em to get onto some relatively clear runs on my favorite sections of swervery . Stopped at a town I always frequent on this particular ride , Strathalbyn , and met an older fella ( 71 YEARS YOUNG !! ) riding a 2016 ZX10R . Here is some pics of the bikes parked up .

Good to see you are able to get out and ride after the winter....

The green machines look great and good on that fellow riding his ZX10R at his age.....

Did he ride like a maniac at least?

Hahaha , I asked him how he found the ride position on his ZX10 and he said he likes it more than the ZX14 comfort .... I also asked if he rode it fast , and he said he used to be a fast punter , now , he picks and chooses his burst of speed , so still into it a bit I'd say . Didn't get to ride with him , I had to head home pretty quick after that chin wag session , so the old Dear got to have some lunch .

Before reading this I thought you went to a HULK convention with all the green! Haha, What is the thing on the windshield of the ZX10? I really love the green and black combo on that bike. Did you run through the goodies on your Zed? Sooooooooo impressive bro. If you asked me to ride I would take one look at that bike and say "sure, but when I fall behind don't wait for me!"

I seen that screen mod of his , and he has a gopro i think , well camera there . I do not know if he is filming his race rides lol , or just traffic in general to record trouble . I know he dont upload to youtube , cos I asked if he watched any bike reviewers on there nowadays . Dont really get to talk about me mods , well i like to of course , but most people think it is a new bike and leave it at that . Funny tho , most comments generally come from non motorcyclists , just people enjoying a look and a few questions . It was the first time my new friend , fellow ZX14R owner has seen the bike in the flesh , so to speak , and already he is re evaluating his future mods , so that is good to help his decisions a bit .
I got some parts , coming in the next few weeks that you may find interesting Arch , for the KTM that is , will post up a pic before I fit em up bro .

That’s a serious stable of horses. Must be a blast to give them the free run. Hail to that 71 guy.

Got an order in I have been pretty excited about , full set of Brembo calipers to try out on the KTM . The fronts are the Stylema Billet Monoblocs , GP4-MS , the ultimate caliper for street , unlike Brembo full race , these are fitted with a dust seal . I will fit them with the Z04 Brembo pads and mate them up with the Corsa Corta 17 RCS . The rear to match , P2 84mm also in nickle to balance it out . Got a Corsa Corta clutch to try out coming this week , but this may be too large ratio to replace the stock unit . I will get it all fitted up , then see what how it all is . Some pics of what arrived .

Hell yeah, those are the exact things that makes a bike stop properly:bowdown:

This bike actually didn't need brake update , the oem are already very good . But , I got to admit , I am obsessed with trick brake setups , love looking at World Superbikes machines for instance , at all their beautiful details and hardware . So , I cannot duplicate to that level , but enjoy instead , top street level calipers from Brembo in this case . Most of my history of old builds of the past , feature updated billet calipers of some kind .

Well , I am in a bit of shock , I sold my beloved Busa to a friend , 2 days ago ..... I had changed my mind about keeping the Busa , about a week ago . I wasn't in a hurry to sell , but it all happened pretty damn quickly . Had the L2 Busa for 10 years or so , and so began a build of love , that I have enjoyed so much over that time . This is probably my last ever Suzuki streetbike build . I have changed over to other rides for now at least . Any way here is some pics of the L2 over the years of ownership and developement .
