Russia and Ukraine

While on missions, there is lots going on but would often miss it as we were focused on our task but there are times when in a covert observation stance and we would be able to oversee a ground battle and it's fast and slow air support....it's quite a spectacle to see in person.

Watching the A-10s doing their runs or seeing an Apache Cross bow cresting and setting up an attack or seeing the fast air come streaking across the battlefield delivering ordnance is quite something...

Watching Specter deliver an attack at night is something to see as well...

Then there's the sounds of battle....after a while you can depict what is shooting by the sound.

One of my Marine friends talks about having the Army do air strikes for them.
That a couple of Apaches would rise up out of a dune, rain hell, lower back out of site, and a few miles away...all clear, lmao.
I've seen those at air shows and at V.I.R
I was amazed at just how quiet they are.
I'de imagine too with battle experience, that you really would come to know what's going on just by sound.

Hard to say what is going through his mind at this point.

I personally think Russia is really in trouble at this point.....they screwed up the invasion of Ukraine from the onset and it will never recover.
I am fairly certain the CCP sees this as an opportunity to support Putin and become more aligned in the objectives they both have in mind in the short and long term. Also building trust for the 2 countries as one become a more formidable force.

I'm 45 and live in rural Va.
I've been fortunate to actually see several of these expiramental aircrafts/flying triangles, Hav Blue, and other declassified projects from the 70's and up, and throughout my life, this is just a hot spot.
I moved 8 months ago, to a nice quiet spot in the sticks, which is 5 miles down the road from where I originally grew up.
In the 80's...fighter pilots would wave at us on our bikes(yes seriously), as they flew a little under radar, lol.
We got regular shows, as waves quickly turned to folding wings and afterburners.
Fast forward to today, and not much has changed. Ospreys, C130s, and multiple fighters buzz my house weekly(I love it), and by buzz...I mean I can see the pilot(s).
I'm 20ish miles(as the crow flies) from a Dam on a big lake, and it's been a training bomb target since it was built in the late 60's.
But, after dark(I'm a sky watcher, and there is almost no light to brighten the sky anywhere close by), you never know what you'll see.
I watched a fighter hook up and refuel recently(I have a huge view of the sky, watched it for over a minute) and a few times a year, I catch quick glimpses to full views of all kinds of strange crafts, from normal to incredible speeds.
I got to watch 2 fighters escort a black triangle earlier this summer.
I've seen the Airforce one and two helicopters flying together twice too, I assume Bush jr on board as both helicopters were there(so you don't know which one the pres is in), and fighters flew over about a minute before.
I love watching these guys fly over...I'm just waiting for an Osprey to top the trees in my yard, lmao, those pilots are nuts.
I'll have to keep an eye out for anything shaped like that new Warthog(I havn't seen an old one of those in years).
Sorry to ramble off subject, but I love this stuff.
We are similar in this way... I keep 12 x 70 mm binoculars handy ( up to 60 power and a tripod ) in the garage when I am working in the garage. I live about 20 miles as the crow flies from March AFB. The flight paths of C17s, KC 135s and others including Apache Helicopters going from Camp Pendleton to 29 Palms Marine base means something is flying by pretty often. We also have French Valley airport about 10 miles away and the Confederate Airforce squad go by occasionally with different relics from the past.

I also got some good pictures of Cal Fires scooper plane for fighting fires getting a load from the Diamond Lake Reservoir I worked on over 20 years ago and its only about 5 miles from here. I can post those up sometime.

The highlight of my sky watching at night came in August of 2009 when I saw a craft fly by. The only reason I saw it was because it was briefly blocking my sight from stars as it approached. I just happened to be star gazing in the right direction at that time. It was round and looked like a 2 layer cake turned upside down. In the center were 4 or 5 differently configured antennas pointing downward. No lights were visible and not a sound as it passed over. Size and speed? Probably 40 to 80 ft across and moving at probably 200 to 300 mph. It was difficult to judge. 4 seconds was about all the time I had to observe it. Once it passed behind me I jumped out of the lawn chair to follow it visually but it was already gone. After that I kept an old and heavy 2 or 3 million candle power flashlight by my side just in case I ever got another chance to see something like that again. Oh how I wish I could have lit that craft up! As it usually is with most unusual sightings it has never happened again.

As far as the conflict is concerned, we have a completely different problem here in Europe, especially in Germany. The Urkaine is really bleeding us dry. We have currently taken in 1.3 million refugees who have immediate health insurance and receive full social benefits. Our health insurance system is currently at its limit! With us you get a monthly child benefit for each child, which is also paid in full.

Men are already coming from other refugee countries, they claim they have 15 children and receive the money every month without proof, plus all social benefits and rent. We currently have a reputation as a welfare state. But the Ukrainians are even more cheeky, they drive here in buses, apply for money for the whole family as supposed refugees, get it approved and then drive home again. We have Flixbus, it's like your Greyhound buses, they're booked out for weeks between the Ukraine and Germany. Or they drive to the social welfare office in big Audis and BMWs and when their applications are approved, they drive home again.

One can perhaps understand that some of my compatriots are already very negative towards Ukrainians.

To take advantage of this crisis and then to insult us Germans, that we are doing too little, that we have to do more than the 100 billion euros and the weapons of war, is pure mockery.

I do transport for the healthcare facilities here. Many have or will be declaring bankruptcy due to the number of immigrants that are in country without jobs. They have to provide care by law.

They are going broke!

And boy does noone in our administration want to talk about this!!!!

China is most definitely not our friend; they are in it for the money and that's it, they'd sell us down the river for a nickel.

They are eye-balling Taiwan and will make their move before too long.

If Russia doesn't get rid of Putin soon, their clout as a country will come to an end as they have lost the favor of many countries around the world including their allies who will turn on them.

Or worse yet, wait for Russia to lose and then "prop of their economy" and get every drop of oil they produce.

And yes Taiwan is going to get interesting. China sees how broke helping Ukraine has made us.

Do you all realize Brandon reduced the deficit by $300 billion his first year and is on schedule to save a trillion this year? I know fake news.....

Go Brandon...

"They are taking credit for the fact that deficits fell in 2021-2022,” Goldwein said. “If they had done nothing, deficits would have fallen by $1 trillion. They fell by much less than they were going to.”

Yeah go Brandon. And all the sheep he herds into the killing pens.

Yeah man, cool stuff.
I've seen quite a few round craft too.
It's also Very quiet where I live, bugs and animals, and an occasional car.
So it's easy to hear if there is any engine noise, some do, some don't.
Considering I can clearly see and hear the 777 when they goe over twice daily at 35k'.
The next gen/Raptor style fighters show up on rare occasion, usually at higher altitudes(it's the old stuff they buzz the trees in, lol), and they have a distinct and quieter sounding engines.
Some of the triangles have very low jet noise, but all of the round ones are always silent.
Many people think you're crazy if you say things like this. My answer is simple...Look up...you'll be suprised what you see...or don't, lol. As in, I know they fly the fighters cloaked here often too(yes, for those that don't know, this is not fantasy tech, but simple facts) as some jets are skinned in mini cameras and leds, and whatever the top or sun facing cameras colors pick up, like blue sky or gray clouds, the lower or visible from below parts of the jet's leds turn that color, giving a masking or cloaking effect.
The sound is still there though.
Some would argue that you just hear a jet but don't see it from glare, obstruction, or distance. Fair enough, but when you've watched them all your life, have huge clear views of the sky, and are familiar with when and where an aircraft should be visible, not so much.
When you hear manuvers, and jets are in the area, and remain in the area for extended periods of time, vs a quick fly over, you come to realize that they are using this simple but amazing tech.

From rumor central... the biggest chip manufacturer in Taiwan will destroy its chip producing plant if the CCP invades... the very "thing" the CCP wants to acquire and control will be gone. Is it true? I have no idea, however, the CCP without a doubt wants a 500 billion dollar company that produces some of the highest tech computer chips in the world as part of the spoils from an invasion.

Its getting more real by the minute. With Putins speech today and again threatening to use nukes I don’t think hes fooling around. World game of chess we are in.
Even Putin in his delirium must realize that if he nukes Ukraine, not only will he make it uninhabitable and subject his own country to fallout from prevailing winds blowing towards Russia but he might face a possible invasion by NATO for breaking nuclear treaties.

The unconfirmed rumors are he has serious health issues.
He may not give a sh!t

The business of repossessing a neighboring country by force and at great expense to life and resources is a sure sign of behavior unbecoming to preserving a legacy. Anytime you want something that legally doesn't belong to you... as in this case Putin is crossing an ethical and moral line with brute force.

It's called despotism.

However... the bankers. MIC and neocons are loving it...
They want more of it so they can make billions off it.

The eastern half of Ukraine is predominantly Russian speaking people and there has been an ongoing internal war raging there for years (since the fall of the Soviet Union). Russia has been sponsoring insurgents in these regions....then Crimea happened unchallenged....now this....

Putin has too much of an ego to admit he is losing terribly in Ukraine and most likely would refuse a withdrawal as it would make him look bad....thousands of people have to die so he doesn't look bad...

Its starting to appear that other countries are not in favor of Putin's plan and the number of countries is increasing. Putin is a very accomplished man of several disciplines, however, it appears he has over played his hand this time. Will he use nukes? It seems that is his only trump card and it will most likely lead to a bigger loss in unimaginable ways. I wish it would all just end with a withdrawal from Ukraine.
