1. People have been tunneling and circumventing the wall in the US for generations, why is this one any different? I read where border agents have been investigated for their corrupt behavior-even so far as being on the payroll for the cartel. If someone is paying employees under the table, it is easy to hire illegal workers...in any country. The clencher is if people want any governmental aid, that's when we get them. Illegals here can't get a health card and we don't have the same system as the US where we can pay cash for medical services so if they get hurt or need health care-they are easy pickings.

4. the cost of living is like the US, it varies from place to place. In our larger cities $15/hr would be a drop in a bucket and even in our rural areas you aren't living high on the hog. A gallon of gas is around $4.50 or so.

5. Immigration is harder in Canada but people seem to want to flock to the US due to better climate and perceived better living conditions. Add to that, you share a border with a very poor nation where the US is perceived as a land of opportunity and there you have it. We have our share of illegal immigrants too but our climate is not as appealing.

1. We can hire people and not pay them under the table and the government says the burden of proof is on the employee not the employer.

4. Gas is $2.19 here now 3 weeks ago could find for $1.89

1. that wall would stop nobody, there have been deterrents before and they were easily circumvented...the only thing the wall is doing is spending your tax money.

Even though I am Canadian and the XL pipeline is coming from here, our oil is dirty and the destruction to habitat in the extraction of our oil is outrageous...I've been to these sites and it looks like the lunar surface...the tailing ponds kill millions of migrating birds each migration. (and our oil is foreign oil to you).

Obviously the controls were not in place where you were. You forget... I am also an ex oilfield guy... worked in the patch for about 8 years starting in the 70s... in 2011 and 12 I partnered with another veteran and we hauled water in the Bakken field in North Dakota... I know all about what is required... our orientation to haul fresh water to frack sites was 50 hours long... and complete with several Company Men from companies like Conoco Phillips, Hess Oil and others telling us the strict regulations for everything we were going to be working around.

4. Our minimum wage is $15/hr and in today's economy it sure isn't a high wage...and it's the people who want this wage, not the government. Labor unions have been beating the drums for this increase for years and years...the fact your savior (Trump) didn't give this to the people who need it is more evidence he isn't looking after them.

Did you ever consider people need skills to earn a decent living? Minimum wage isn't a living wage... its a wage for unskilled people. Even when two people, a husband and wife are working they still can't make a mortgage payment on 60K a year... at least not around here.

5. If you read the whole piece, you would have seen there will be fast tracking for illegal aliens already working and living on US soil.....this is in contrast to the armies of ICE agents running around deporting people and leaving their legally born kids behind....bear in mind, without immigration, there'd be no USA.

The only thing Trump won was a one way trip into the history books as the worst president the US has ever had-and that's not my opinion but one of the US people. He still had other avenues to speak to the American people but never used them-even though he really needed to be speaking to all Americans, not just his supporters.

Question... when you let a company serviceman into your house... do you check his credentials first? or background check him? or, do you just assume the guy is a standup type of good guy? My point is you never know with certainty who you are dealing with when you meet these guys for the 1st time.

When staffing a White House as a president you have to make a lot of decisions in a short period of time. Keep in mind the president was nicely surprised that he won the 2016 election and had to find people he could trust to do things that required trust. I think his political instincts were pretty good... but... some people are pretty charming even though they might have some evil tendencies, or could be blackmailed because you don't know everything about them.

So... back to the clemency list... it becomes the fallout from many walks of life... we will always have people that think they can get away with illegal activities... to blame the president for the ways of others is being a bit hypercritical... people will do what they want to do...

Theoretically that is correct. The asterisk in this case is that most of the executive orders deal with accelerating aid in recovery of the effects of the pandemic. Trump was very opposed to admitting, or should I say accepting, that the virus needs to be seriously dealt with. Rejoining the WHO invites more minds and ideas. The discussion of the pipeline, while also arguable, deals with trying to improve conservation and focusing on new energy sources. The blocking of travel from Muslim countries was one of Trump's more racist moves as it implies that all people of Muslim faith are not worthy of traveling here. It incites worldwide dislike for Americans obvious reasons. Rejoining the Paris Climate Accord opens the door to more discussion from more sources as to how to deal with national and worldwide environmental issues. Trump had a real problem accepting or even listening to others; his way or the highway. Take his ball and go home, so to speak. Having humility is not showing weakness, it's having the courage to listen and learn and accept that others might be able to teach you something.
